David Dickinson, the cherished former presenter of ‘Bargain Hunt’ and a familiar face on British TV, has more than just his charismatic screen presence within his family tree – his grandchildren have also enjoyed their fair share of the limelight. With successful programmes like ITV’s ‘Dickinson’s Real Deal’, ‘The David Dickinson Show’, and ‘David Dickinson’s Name Your Price’ gracing our screens, it’s clear that show business runs in the family.
Dickinson’s international cabaret star wife, Lorne Lesley, with whom he shares a love story that sparked in a 60s nightclub and led to nuptials in 1968, is equally illustrious. In a heartfelt tribute on his website, Dickinson boasts of his wife’s glamour and talent: “Lorne is half African and half Welsh and hails from Tiger Bay, just like Shirley Bassey. Lorne is very glamorous, a lovely striking lady, and she has more talent in her little finger than I have in my whole body! ” Together, they’ve raised two children, Robert and Katrina, whom Dickinson proudly adopted from Lesley’s previous marriage.
Now parents themselves, Robert and Katrina have made Dickinson and Lesley grandparents to four – Aim’ee, Lauren, Myles, and Finley. The boys took to the television stage on ITV’s ‘Big Star’s Little Star’, while Myles notably pitched his business idea on ‘Dragons’ Den’, intriguing the entrepreneurial panellists.
Sara Davies, struck by the young entrepreneur’s drive, asked if it was a result of his upbringing or genetics. This led Myles to share that his father “runs a business” and his grandfather is “on TV”, as reported by the Express.
The Dragons perked up upon discovering Myles’ family connection to television personality David Dickinson. Myles then outlined his ambition to create bespoke credit cards, reports the Mirror.
Steven Bartlett couldn’t contain his excitement, confessing: “I’m a sucker for this stuff. I am the target customer for this kind of product because whenever Revolut pop up with any kind of personalised card, I’ve bought all of them.”
Peter Jones saw potential to elevate Myles’ venture “to a huge level” and matched the equity ask for 35 percent. Touker Suleyman offered reassurance, telling Myles: “Time is what you’re going to get for me.”
Peter Jones claimed: “Nobody has mentored, helped and assisted more young people in Britain than me.”

However, it was Steven who sealed the deal, offering Myles the chance to work directly in his office with his team, asserting: “I’m going to go one step further, you can come and work in my office with me and my team. I am the guy for this business.”
teven put forward £35,000 for a 35 percent stake, which Myles accepted with enthusiasm, ready to embark on their new business journey together. Additionally, Dickinson is related to comedian Jack Whitehall, a fact uncovered by Whitehall while attending a funeral.
During a 2020 appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show, comedian Jack exclaimed the surprising family tie to David’s wife: “[David is] married to one of my second cousins. I saw him at a funeral, over the other side of the grave.”
Even though Jack is not biologically related to David, he revealed that he is second cousins with David’s spouse Lorné, who has been married to David for over half a century.
