Curry may not be very vocal in supporting his wife, but from Ayesha’s confession, it’s clear that he does everything he can to motivate her to reach new heights. Much like Curry, the 20-time All-Star supports his wife, Savannah, not only behind closed doors but in the public eye as well. Ayesha Curry stepped into the publishing industry with her venture, Sweet July Books, and the first novel the organization will publish is Trisha Tobias’ “Honeysuckle and Bone”. You might not have heard of the author yet, as this is her debut novel. So, why give this story an opportunity? Ayesha explained it during an interview with CBS Mornings.

“The first obviously being that Trisha is an incredible author, but we have a ton of connections,” Ayesha said. “The first glaring connection being our Jamaican roots.” And there you go with the strong bond rooted in shared heritage. Her mother was from Jamaica, and she grew up hearing all kinds of stories about the country, which has fostered a deep attachment to it. But that’s not it. There were more reasons. “This story is based in Jamaica. The culture is just running all through the pages. And so that really drew us to this story.” Ayesha couldn’t resist the deep connection to Jamaican sentiment, which ultimately compelled her to give Trisha’s story a chance under her imprint.
