The heartbreaking case of Henry Nowak has taken another disturbing turn after details emerged about a 999 call made shortly after the fatal attack.

According to evidence presented following the conviction of Vickrum Digwa, Digwa’s brother allegedly called emergency services and claimed that he and his sibling had been the victims of a racist attack.

During the call, he reportedly told the operator: “We’ve just been attacked racially” and claimed a white man had assaulted his brother and knocked off his turban.

Prosecutors later argued that these claims were false.

The court heard that while those allegations were being made, Henry was suffering from catastrophic injuries after being stabbed multiple times.

The revelation has intensified public anger because it comes after previously released footage showed Henry desperately telling officers: “I’ve been stabbed, I can’t breathe.” Yet confusion at the scene initially led police to focus on Digwa’s version of events.

During the trial, prosecutors described Digwa’s account as a “wicked lie.”

They argued that Henry was left “dying alone, humiliated and handcuffed” while officers attempted to understand what had happened.

Evidence later established that Digwa had stabbed Henry with a ceremonial knife, inflicting multiple wounds including a fatal injury to the chest. He was convicted of murder and sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 21 years.

Judge William Mousley rejected claims that Henry had used racist language before the attack.

Addressing Digwa directly, the judge stated he was satisfied that Henry had said nothing racist and noted that the allegation was completely inconsistent with Henry’s character.

A Family Forever Changed

For Henry’s family, the court proceedings have only deepened an already unimaginable grief.

His mother Lucy described her son as ambitious, determined, and full of life. She told the court that he had his entire future ahead of him before it was cruelly taken away.

His sister Olivia called him her first best friend and said he lit up every room he entered.

Even Digwa’s family later issued a public apology, expressing sorrow for the pain caused to the Nowak family and acknowledging the devastating consequences of the crime.

Today, as more details continue to emerge, many people remain haunted by one fact above all others:

While Henry was desperately trying to tell people he had been stabbed, others were allegedly telling a completely different story.

And for his loved ones, that reality may be one of the most painful parts of all.
