The Princess of Wales joined the King and Queen at St James’s Palace this evening for a special reception celebrating Cancer Research UK’s 125th anniversary year.
The gathering, hosted by His Majesty in his capacity as Patron of the charity, promises to be a significant occasion recognising the organisation’s substantial contributions to the fight against cancer.
Catherine stole the show as she dazzled in a £1,785 vibrant, romantic red midi dress from Mytheresa, featuring a belt secured with a covered buckle, emphasising her slim figure.
The elegant dress was accompanied by a red floral corsage attached near the lapel, a matching red clutch bag and a delicate pendant necklace.
Tonight’s event brought together those at the forefront of cancer prevention, diagnosis and treatment, shining a spotlight on the vital work undertaken by researchers, medical professionals, dedicated volunteers and key partners who support the charity’s mission.
Catherine herself announced she was in remission from the illness in January 2025, following her diagnosis, which she revealed in March the year prior.
The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester were also present, joining the senior royals as they engaged with scientists, healthcare professionals and supporters who have dedicated themselves to advancing cancer care.

Cancer Research UK traces its origins to two predecessor organisations, the Imperial Cancer Research Fund, established in 1902, and the Cancer Research Campaign, founded in 1923.
The charity’s work over the decades has helped transform understanding of the disease and approaches to prevention, detection and treatment.
Survival rates for cancer patients in Britain have doubled during the past half-century, a testament to sustained research efforts.
Remarkably, eight out of ten cancer drugs administered to patients across the United Kingdom today were developed by or in collaboration with the charity.
His Majesty assumed the role of Patron in 2024, while the Duke of Gloucester and Princess Alexandra serve as Joint Presidents.
