As for his personal life, Jim ventures back into the world of dating, with the encouragement of his daughter Kim (Chloe Sweetlove). He doesn’t hold out much hope of meeting someone until he crosses paths with Nicola (Camilla Beeput), a visitor on the island.
The synopsis continues: “Romance is also in the air for Bergerac’s formidable mother-in-law Charlie Hungerford (Zoë Wanamaker), who has found a new man in her life, the effervescent, charming Nigel.

Bergerac faces one of his most challenging cases in series two
“Series one was defined by his grief. We’re now 18 months further down the line and people are starting to move on,” he continued. “His daughter Kim is moving on. She’s moving to a music school in England. Charlie Hungerford is moving on, she’s dating, and so Jim’s in danger of being left behind. His support network is kind of disappearing.
“So he is now tentatively, dare I say, reluctantly, dating and starting to put the building blocks to his life back in place,” explained the actor, adding: “But of course, it wouldn’t be a good TV series if we didn’t challenge that.”
All episodes of Bergerac season two are available to stream on U.
