UPDATED: AMC has dropped the official trailer for Season 4 of its noir thriller series Dark Winds ahead of its Feb. 15 premiere.
In the trailer we see Lt. Joe Leaphorn (Zahn McClarnon) in a desperate search on the “dangerous” streets of L.A. for “a possible trained killer out there who wants to finish the job”. Leaphorn is brought there in a race against time to find a missing Navajo girl.

PREVIOUS, Oct. 23: The anticipated fourth season of noir thriller series Dark Winds will premiere Sunday, Feb. 15 at 9 pm on AMC and AMC+, the network announced Thursday. We’re also getting the first look at Lt. Joe Leaphorn’s (Zahn McClarnon) latest case in the just-released teaser trailer. It will debut during the series premiere Sunday of Anne Rice’s Talamasca: The Secret Order.
“I had this badge for four years before I saw my first murder,” says McClarnon’s Leaphorn in the teaser. “Now it just feels like every day. It’s hard having to hold it all.”
The fourth season focuses on the search for a missing Navajo girl, which takes Leaphorn (McClarnon), Chee (Kiowa Gordon) and Manuelito (Jessica Matten) from the safety of Navajo Nation to the gritty terrain of 1970s Los Angeles in a race against the clock to save her from an obsessive killer with ties to organized crime.
The series follows Leaphorn, Chee and Manuelito of the Navajo Tribal Police solving mysteries on their reservation as it is besieged by increasingly violent crimes in the 1970s.
Executive produced by Robert Redford and George R.R. Martin, Dark Winds also stars Deanna Allison as Emma Leaphorn.
Previously announced new cast members in Season 4 include Franka Potente as Irene Vaggan; Isabel DeRoy-Olson as Billie Tsosie; Chaske Spencer as Sonny, Luke Barnett as FBI Agent Toby Shaw and Titus Welliver as Dominic McNair. Season 4 also sees the return of A. Martinez as Scarborough Police Department Acting Chief Gordo Sena.
Based on the Leaphorn & Chee book series by Tony Hillerman, Dark Winds is created by Graham Roland (Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, The Returned, Almost Human, Fringe). John Wirth (Hell on Wheels, Hap and Leonard) serves as showrunner. The series is executive produced by Redford, Martin, Roland, Wirth, McClarnon, Chris Eyre, Tina Elmo, Jim Chory, Thomas Brady, Max Hurwitz, Vince Gerardis and Anne Hillerman.
