The Princess of Wales’s attendance at Tuesday evening’s UK-France State Banquet was confimed just hours prior, with the royal attending alongside Prince William. The 43-year-old donned a rich dark red silk creponne evening gown, featuring softly gathered detailing and a dramatic caped back.

As well as her elegant attire, Kate also proudly wore the Lover’s Knot Tiara to mark the occasion. The striking tiara – which is said to be worth around £4 million – has fast become a treasured piece in her royal jewellery collection.

Kate, who married into the Royal Family in 2011, has worn the iconic Lover’s Knot Tiara on at least 12 occasions – which has made it one of her most frequently chosen royal headpieces.

The gorgeous tiara holds particular poignancy, having once been a favourite for William’s late mother, Diana, Princess of Wales.

With Kate opting to wear the tiara on multiple occasions, it shows as a touching tribute to her late mother-in-law’s memory and enduring legacy.

Kate’s attendance was only confirmed on Tuesday afternoon, as her participation in major events continued to be confirmed at the last minute, as she continues to safeguard her health following her cancer battle.

Yesterday’s State Banquet, which took place on the first day of the French President Emmanuel Macron’s visit to the UK, marked Kate’s first one since November 2023

New picture of Kate and William

Kensington Palace has released a new picture of William and Kate as they prepared to attend the French State Banquet at Windsor Castle.

The couple were the first members of the Royal Family to welcome President Macron and his wife Brigitte to the UK earlier in the day on Tuesday.

Alongside the picture, the post read: “Ready for what promises to be a wonderful State Banquet this evening in Windsor”, following by both the United Kingdom and French flags.
