Christiane Amanpour, the British-Iranian journalist and CNN’s Chief International Anchor, has confirmed that her battle with cancer has returned for the third time. However, in a heartfelt and powerful message, she assured her viewers that her condition is being “very well-managed.”

The 67-year-old shared the update during her appearance on Changing the Ovarian Cancer Story with gynecologic oncologist Dr. Angela George, where she also emphasized the importance of “listening to your body.”
“I have it again, but it’s being very well-managed,” Amanpour revealed during the interview.

Amanpour, who initially announced her diagnosis in 2021, underwent surgery and chemotherapy to battle the disease. She explained that the reason for her public disclosure was not only to keep her viewers informed but to also help others in similar situations. “I wanted to do a service, not just to my viewers, but also to those who might be in a similar situation,” she said.

Her decision to go public with the diagnosis came after taking four weeks off from her show, prompting rumors and questions about her absence. “People started to ask questions — where am I, have I been fired, am I alive, dead, whatever?” she recalled.

Amanpour emphasized that part of the reason for her quick treatment was because she listened to her body. “I went straight to the doctors,” she said. “The reason I got such quick care was because I listened to my body.”
Her openness and advocacy for early detection have inspired many, showing the power of resilience and awareness in the fight against cancer.
Amanpour’s battle is a reminder of the importance of early diagnosis and taking immediate action when symptoms appear. Ovarian cancer, which affects many women worldwide, is often difficult to detect in its early stages, but symptoms like abdominal pain, swelling, changes in bowel habits, and weight fluctuations can be key indicators.
As she continues to fight, the world watches with admiration for the courage and strength Amanpour displays in both her career and personal life.
