CAMERA CAUGHT — Zara Tindall’s Sweet Gesture Toward King Charles At Royal Ascot Melts Hearts

A kiss for the King! Zara Tindall blows her uncle Charles a sweet peck before the monarch feels the heat in the Royal Box during scorching fourth day at Ascot

Zara Tindall was the picture of an adoring niece as she blew a loving kiss at her uncle King Charles during a sweltering day at Royal Ascot today.

Photos showed Princess Anne‘s daughter, 45, waving excitedly at the monarch as they crossed paths in the parade ring at the Berkshire racecourse as temperatures soared to 29C.

The King seemingly felt the heat as he and Queen Camilla arrived for the penultimate day of the prestigious British racing event, along with Zara, who looked typically stylish in polka dots.

While the former Olympian did not join the carriage procession today, Zara delivered a masterclass in race day dressing with her dress – one day after she stole the show in a gorgeous, butter-yellow Rebecca Vallance frock.

The mother-of-three accessorised her Claire Mischevani outfit with a coordinated hat from award-winning milliner Sally-Ann Provan and statement earrings by Hector Lion.

Meanwhile, Queen Camilla, 78, riding alongside the monarch, looked stylish in turquoise after wearing neutral shades for most of her Ascot appearances this year.

Camilla later joined Charles in the Royal Box, where the monarch appeared to wipe his brow while trying to cool off as the races got underway.

After Stanley Tucci’s surprise appearance yesterday, the King, 77, invited Andrew LLoyd Webber, 78, to travel to the festival in an open-top carriage today, with the renowned British composer joined by his wife, Madeleine Gurdon.

Other famous faces in attendance today include former Made In Chelsea star Millie Mackintosh, TV presenter Charlotte Hawkins, ex-BBC presenter Mishal Husain, and seasoned Ascot attendee Georgia Toffolo.

It comes after Queen Camilla praised the horse racing spectacle as the ‘best of British’ on the same day that The Devil Wears Prada star Stanley, 65, was revealed as the unexpected star of the carriage procession on Ladies Day.

In an interview with ITV Racing, Camilla also acknowledged she hadn’t had the best luck after two of her horses were beaten early on.

However, she added that Royal Ascot means ‘five days of pleasure’ while hailing its enduring appeal after the festival was founded by Queen Anne in 1711.

‘I mean it doesn’t matter whether you love horses, don’t know much about horses, you come here for a really good day to experience a bit of fun, the best racing in the world, the best horses, the elegant women,’ she said.

‘And I think, the world we live in, it’s wonderful just to get away and enjoy yourself, and that’s what Ascot does. You get the pageantry and the procession – I love it, it’s five days of pleasure.’

Earlier in the day, Stanley, who is a regular at royal events and dinner parties, looked just as comfortable in a landau as he travelled to the Berkshire racecourse alongside his wife, Felicity Blunt.

The American actor dressed for the part in his top hat and tails, as he added a bit of flair with a beaded bracelet and sunglasses. Felicity opted for a ruffled floral dress from the brand LEO LIN, which she paired with a chic, wide-brimmed hat.

Ladies Day also saw the return of Carole Middleton, who opted to wear the same mint green Catherine Walker dress she first wore to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding in St George’s Chapel eight years ago.

She wore the stylish number with a straw hat as she joined royals such as the King and Queen at the Berkshire racecourse instead of the statement fascinator she wore in 2018.

Carole finished her look with a cream clutch and suede heels as she was pictured mingling with Queen Camilla, 78, and Zara.

After the Princess of Wales donned yellow for her royal return to Ascot earlier this week, Zara followed suit yesterday in a chic belted yellow dress from Rebecca Vallance, featuring statement sleeves and pocket detailing.

She teamed the glamorous frock with a matching Anya Hindmarch clutch bag and hat, from Sarah Cant Millinery, and added more height to her frame with a pair of metallic gold heels from Emmy London.

Keeping the sun from her eyes with some stylish sunglasses, the late Queen’s granddaughter, who is 22nd in the line of succession to the British throne, completed her look with dazzling drop earrings.

Also in attendance yesterday was the 2nd Earl of Snowdon, who joined the Royal Family’s carriage procession with his glamorous French girlfriend, Isabelle de La Bruyere.

Before the races kicked off, Carole and the Queen were spotted in conversation inside the parade ring.

As one of the highlights of the racing calendar, Royal Ascot is just as famous for its fashion as it is for its races – and revellers have continued to keep the fashion stakes high today.

Although temperatures hit 29C, racegoers did not let the balmy temperatures interfere with putting on their best fashion foot forward, and bright, summery ensembles appeared to be the order of the day.

Radiant guests turned the racecourse into a sea of colourful ensembles, while gripping equally vibrant fans and glugging water to help keep cool as they stepped out for the prestigious occasion.

The event’s official lookbook this year was curated by menswear specialist Daniel Fletcher, who has previously designed for the likes of Louis Vuitton, JW Anderson and Victoria Beckham.

The guide outlines the dos and don’ts of dressing for the annual event, and for the first time ever, it’s also determined its colour of the year – bright tomato.
