NEW UPDATE Emerges as Harry and Meghan’s Reported UK Return With Kids Could Delight King Charles
Harry and Meghan’s Reported UK Return With Archie and Lilibet Could Delight King Charles
Sussex Family Could Return to Britain Within Weeks
Fresh reports suggest Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may return to the UK next month with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, marking the children’s first visit to Britain in four years.
According to sources, the Sussexes are expected to travel from Montecito, California, for the One Year To Go celebrations ahead of the 2027 Invictus Games in Birmingham.
If the plans go ahead, it would mark Meghan’s first public appearance in Britain since Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral in September 2022.
The Invictus Games Remain Central to Harry’s Mission
Prince Harry founded the Invictus Games in 2014 to support wounded, injured and sick service personnel and veterans through sport.
Birmingham will host the games in July 2027, and next month’s events are intended to mark the one-year countdown.
Since stepping back from royal duties, the competition has become one of Harry’s most important charitable commitments and a cause close to his heart.
Harry Has Felt ‘Great Sadness’ Over Family Separation
A source close to the Duke told News.com.au that Harry has been deeply saddened by his inability to bring Meghan and the children back to Britain in recent years.
“He would love to introduce the children to his wider family, to show them the UK, where he grew up – his homeland. That would be a natural thing for any parent,” the source said.
For Harry, allowing Archie and Lilibet to experience Britain and reconnect with relatives has reportedly become increasingly important.
Security Concerns Have Long Delayed Their Return
Questions over security have overshadowed the prospect of any family visit since Harry stepped down as a working royal.
After losing his legal challenge over automatic police protection in May 2025, Harry publicly stated that he could not imagine bringing Meghan and the children back under those circumstances.
However, recent reports suggest that the necessary arrangements for a safe return have now been put in place, potentially clearing the way for the Sussex family’s long-awaited visit.
King Charles Could Finally Reunite With His Grandchildren
A return to Britain would hold special significance for King Charles.
Archie and Lilibet have only visited the UK together once since the family moved to California, during the Platinum Jubilee celebrations in 2022.
That occasion also marked the last time the King saw his grandchildren in person.
Sources claim Charles would be delighted by the prospect of spending time with Archie and Lilibet again after four years apart.
Hopes Continue for Healing Family Ties
The reported trip comes amid continuing efforts to improve relations between father and son.
Harry and the King met privately at Clarence House last September during one of the Duke’s charity visits to London, their first face-to-face meeting in 18 months.
While much remains uncertain, royal watchers believe the Sussexes’ return could provide another opportunity for reconciliation and perhaps open a new chapter for the family after years of tension.
