GB News presenter Martin Daubney halted his live broadcast as he delivered a breaking news announcement. The presenter had previously been discussing Sir Keir Starmer’s meeting with Issac Herzog in Downing Street when talk immediately turned to Prince Harry. It comes amid reports Prince Harry and King Charles could reunite briefly as both father and son are in London. Martin began: “Speculation is mounting about whether King Charles will meet his son Prince Harry during the Duke of Sussex’s brief return to the UK. This comes as King Charles was spotted returning to London suggesting he could potentially meet with Prince Harry during his son’s trip to the UK.” Just minutes later it was confirmed the Duke of Sussex has met with his father King Charles at Clarence House in a bombshell update. The pair last met in February 2024, when the Duke rushed back to Britain following Charles’s cancer diagnosis announcement.
Royal correspondent Cameron Walker explained the “window is very tight” for the father and son to meet. He went on: “If there is going to be a meeting then it’s all going to be about trust and whether he can trust his youngest son to not leak or spill any conversations they have between the two of them. If there is going to be a meeting then it’s all going to be about trust and whether he can trust his youngest son to not leak or spill any conversations they have between the two of them. Of course it has been an incredibly turbulent five years since Harry left as a working member of the Royal Family with Spare, the Netflix series and all the rest of it.”
“There is some kind of olive branch starting to be rebuilt as we saw the King’s top aide and Harry’s aide meeting in London,” he added.
Moments later Harry’s Range Rover was pictured pulling into Clarence House at 5:20pm, just hours after he attended an engagement at Imperial College London.
The King flew to the capital from Balmoral, where he has been spending the summer break, this afternoon for his regular cancer treatment.
It marks the first time father and son have met face to face in over 19 months.
