Our Yorkshire Farm star Amanda Owen has shared a major farming update as her daughter Clemmy got stuck into work.
The Shepherdess is currently working alongside her ex Clive on a major project, a renovation property in the Yorkshire Dales.
They first purchased the derelict farmhouse in 2020, a ruin with a caved-in roof that has taken years to painstakingly repair and renovate.
The 1800s property is located in Swaledale near Ravenseat Farm and it is named Anty John after a former owner, Anthony John Clarkson.
Fans have followed the project in the series, Our Farm Next Door and It was a rocky road for the Owen family. Amanda has since moved her family of nine into the property but there is still plenty of work left to be done.
Updating her followers on their renovation project, Amanda took to Instagram to share snaps of her 10-year-old daughter Clemmy working on electrics as she insisted it’s a skill she will have for life.
Alongside the pics she wrote: “Practical hands on experiences, nurturing natural inquisitiveness and the satisfaction of being able to problem solve and find solutions. That’s what life on the farm provides and those skills are transferable and needed in all walks of life.”
She continued: “A bit of patience is all that is needed. It takes nothing but a bit of time to ignite their enthusiasm (and the burner hopefully).”
The star admitted; “The renovation of Anty Johns is a huge undertaking and seeing the professional trades at work has been enlightening (too many puns). The level of skill and understanding it takes in the trades is often overlooked so we have a newfound appreciation of what it takes to be a professional plumber, electrician, builder, joiner, carpenter, plasterer.”

She added: “Our lal’ efforts are nowt in comparison , we know our limitations but who knows when that spark of enthusiasm might be the start of a new vocation for one of the children.”
The comment section was soon flooded with sweet messages of support from fans as one said: “Brilliant! Your kids will always know what to do, how to fix things, how to make use of natural resources and survive!”
Another wrote: “What an amazing family! Clemmie your a little star well done your the best.” A third said: “That’s brilliant. Those skills are for life. I wish other young people could see how important they are. Well done Clemie.”
Meanwhile one added: “There are no ends to you and your family’s talents. And it’s great that they all want to learn these life skills.”
