The Yorkshire farmer said he and Amanda continue to run the farm and raise their nine children together despite being separated
Our Yorkshire Farm star Clive Owen has opened up about his relationship with former wife Amanda Owen, as the pair continue managing the farm and bringing up nine children together despite their separation.
Clive’s comments follow his disclosure of retirement plans and his desire to “pass the baton” to his children. The farmer made the revelation during a discussion with Amanda regarding weather patterns and their effects on harvests in Monday evening’s latest episode of Our Farm Next Door.
The Channel 4 programme chronicles the Owen family as they press on with restoring the historic farmhouse, Anty John’s. Providing insight into his relationship with former wife Amanda, the farmer said, “Me and Amanda, for some crazy reason, it has worked out alright,” reports the Mirror.
“We are not together, but we can keep things going to suit everybody, and that is what we intend to do.” Amanda noted, “Things are good, and I think being busy plays a huge part in keeping everybody’s focus.”

Meanwhile, in the show, Clive made a poignant confession about handing over his shears as the family considers their future.
“It is a young fellas’ game,” Clive frankly acknowledged. “I am almost 70 now, so I have got to think about what comes next. It is something the family are discussing at the moment to see where the future lies for everyone.”
“It is nice for me to pass on my shears,” the farmer chuckled. “We are just beginning to shear sheep. I think Amanda is going to shear and Milo a bit later, and I am not if I can avoid it,” Clive later admitted during the episode.
In another segment, Miles also disclosed his future ambitions, revealing he wanted to pursue something “to do with agriculture”. He explained, “I am the eldest here now on the farm, so now, a lot of the pressure is on me, you could say, but it is just one of those things.

“I hadn’t thought about the future and what I’d wanna do that far yet, but definitely something with agriculture. But there is a lot more agriculture in the world than just hill farms.”
Clive continued, “What the future holds, you can never quite be sure. It is something the family are discussing at the moment to see where the future lies for everyone.”
Our Farm Next Door can be streamed on All4.
