Fluvia, Mayara y Nahuane son modelos, pero no hacen dieta, aunque sí comen sano, hacen ejercicio y desde el programa “Belleza XL” del canal E! Entertainment, cuya segunda temporada se emite actualmente en América Latina, buscan “democratizar y humanizar la moda”.
En una entrevista, las tres modelos brasileñas de talla Extra Grande (XL) hablan de sus carreras y de los prejuicios que han tenido que enfrentar en la vida y en la industria de la moda por ser “gordas”.

Es una palabra que Fluvia Lacerda, conocida como la Gisele Bundchen de la moda “plus size”, no tiene reparos en usar al hablar de sí misma y sus compañeras, pese a que a algunas personas les suene despectiva y por esa razón usan eufemismos como “llenitas”.
Fluvia explica que en la primera temporada del programa la audiencia abrió los ojos a la realidad de las modelos de tallas grandes, algo que antes parecía “escandaloso, absurdo e inconcebible”, y ahora en la segunda muestra las dificultades, obstáculos y aciertos de las carreras de las tres protagonistas.
“Las posibilidades que tenemos como modelos “plus size” son tan inmensas como las de los modelos convencionales”, dice Lacerda, que ha invertido en su propia línea de ropa de baño, bikinis incluidos, y se queja de que los fabricantes de esas prendas no piensen en personas como ella.
