Zara Tindall’s husband explained how the ‘competitive’ Royal Family loves sport
Mike Tindall has disclosed that the Princess of Wales possesses a competitive streak when it comes to party games, particularly beer pong.
The former England rugby international, who is married to King Charles’s niece Zara Tindall, revealed that Catherine throws herself into the game with gusto at royal gatherings.
Speaking to Woman & Home magazine in a new interview, Mr Tindall said: “Sport is rife throughout the family – everyone is competitive.
“We did a podcast on how much they love sport.

“I knew that the Princess of Wales was uber competitive because I’d seen her play a drinking game called beer pong, but normally we play Prosecco pong! She still plays it with us.”
The Royal Family typically substitutes the traditional beer for sparkling wine during their matches.
This is not the first occasion Mr Tindall has remarked on Catherine’s competitive spirit during beer pong.

During that episode, the former rugby star once again described Catherine as “uber competitive,” prompting a laughing response from the princess.
“I’m not competitive at all,” she jokingly protested.
Mr Tindall was quick to counter her denial, adding: “I’ve seen her play beer pong!”
The exchange highlighted the relaxed dynamic between Mr Tindall and his royal relatives.

Mr Tindall’s comments about Catherine emerged just days after he appeared to take aim at Prince Harry during a Hay Festival appearance.
Discussing his 2011 wedding to Zara Tindall, the former rugby player expressed mock surprise that co-host James Haskell had not embarrassed himself at the ceremony.
He then turned his attention to the Duke of Sussex, who now resides in Montecito, California with Meghan Markle.
“A lot of other people managed that way better than you – [like] Harry, when he was fun,” Mr Tindall quipped.

Harry serves as godfather to the Tindalls’ second daughter, Lena, though their friendship has cooled since the Sussexes relocated to America.
Mr Tindall, who earned 75 caps for England between 2000 and 2011, first encountered Mrs Tindall during the 2003 Rugby World Cup in Australia, the same tournament where he helped England claim victory.
The couple announced their engagement in December 2010 and married the following July at Canongate Kirk in Edinburgh.
They currently reside at Aston Farm, a converted Grade II listed farmhouse on Princess Anne’s 700-acre Gatcombe Park estate in Gloucestershire, where they have lived since 2013.
The property sits close to Anne’s principal royal residence, and the couple share it with their three children.
