Ordinary Afternoon Turns Into Every Parent’s Nightmare
What began as a routine afternoon at a popular park in the Black Country quickly descended into panic when a four-year-old boy disappeared while playing only feet away from his mother.
The incident happened just after 3 p.m. on Thursday at Haden Hill Park in Cradley Heath, near the fish pond area, as the boy’s mother was momentarily occupied caring for a baby.
When she looked back, her son was gone.
Child Found Moments Later in Nearby Woodland
A desperate search began immediately after the alarm was raised.
Thankfully, the youngster was found several minutes later in nearby woodland, bringing relief to his family and those involved in the search.
Police have not revealed what happened during the time he was missing, but specially trained officers are now working closely with the child and his family to establish the full circumstances.
Detectives Hunt Suspect Described as Teenager
West Midlands Police have launched a major investigation and are hunting a suspect described as a black male in his late teens.
He is believed to be short in height, with curled hair, a clean-shaven face and dressed in black clothing.

Police Appeal for Witnesses and Phone Videos
Investigators are appealing to anyone who was in Haden Hill Park at the time of the incident to come forward.
They are particularly interested in hearing from people who may have recorded videos or taken photographs on their mobile phones, believing crucial evidence could have been captured.
Extra police patrols have also been deployed to reassure residents.
Authorities Believe Incident Was Isolated
