The Westin Memphis Beale Street is seen in Downtown Memphis on Monday, March 24, 2025.

The man Memphis police were searching for in connection with the killing of Memphis rapper Sayso P has been found dead in Houston, the Memphis Police Department said Monday in a social media statement.

An arrest warrant for 21-year-old Jayden Dandridge was issued March 26. It charged Dandridge with first-degree murder, two counts of attempted first-degree murder and two counts of employing a firearm during the commission of a felony.

That warrant has since been withdrawn. A second suspect, 22-year-old Kevin Brown, was identified Monday. He is charged with first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, employing a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony and theft of property between $10,000 and $60,0000.

Police are asking anyone with information on Brown’s whereabouts to call CrimeStoppers at (901) 528-2274. A $6,000 reward is being offered for any information that leads to an arrest.

Sayso P, born Latorian Hunt, was 27 at the time of his death. He was an up-and-coming rapper from Memphis who was signed to Sauce Walka’s record label. Sauce Walka, born Albert Walker Mondane, is a Houston rapper.

Police responded to a shooting just before 2:45 p.m. on March 22. MPD said the shooting is believed to have been targeted. It took place just outside the Westin Memphis Beale Street Hotel.

MPD Assistant Chief Don Crowe said during a press conference that investigators were searching for a white four-door sedan. The suspects, he said, got out of the car and began shooting before they left.
