The Golden State Warriors are ready to face the Minnesota Timberwolves for the Western Conference Semifinals in what promises to be an exciting series.
The California team became the seventh No. 7 seed in NBA history to win a first round series against the Houston Rockets, a young team that’s on the rise and that was the favorite to win, according to fans and league experts.
That was rough! Steph Curry body put at risk after dirty play against the Warriors
Golden State is making their ninth appearance in the Conference Semifinals in the last 13 years. Since 2015, the Warriors have a 24-3 playoff series record, a stretch that included an NBA-record 19 consecutive Western Conference series victories (having won 20 of its last 21 Western Conference series).
Steph Curry body put at risk after dirty play
Game 7 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs was a battle between the Warriors and the Rockets, as two of the most talented teams in the NBA fought for every point that they needed in order to advance to the next round. That included personal battles and rocky plays.
One of them involved the best shooter in the league, Stephen Curry, and the young forward Jabari Smith Jr., one of the young ballers in the NBA. During an offensive play for the Rockets, Smith ran from the top of the key trying to grab an offensive rebound after a missed shot by teammate Alperen Sengun.
However, Curry was not about to let that happen, as he put his body forward in order to stop the young baller from grabbing the ball. The risky move got Steph rocked as he was sent to the ground, which caused concern for some fans, who remembered when the shooter went down hard during a late March game against the Toronto Raptors. He ended up with a pelvic contusion that kept him away from the court for a couple of games.
The Warriors’ challenge against Minnesota is a big one
The Golden State Warriors are no strangers to the NBA postseason, with the franchise having won four championships since 2015. They have also lost two championship series recently: one against LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers, and the other one against Kawhi Leonard and the Toronto Raptors.

So the California franchise knows a thing or two about how to win playoffs series against great teams, and they going to need every single ounce of talent and knowledge to beat Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The Twolves have the home court advantage, something that they hope can play in their favor. They also are inspired because of the fact that they eliminated LeBron James, Luka Doncic, and the rest of the Los Angeles Lakers. That’s a huge accomplishment for a team that wants to send a big statement to the NBA: they got next.
