Kat Timpf and Greg Gutfeld are in the midst of a parenting “battle”: They share unforgettable experiences from their first time as mom and dad

They’re not a couple. They don’t live under the same roof. But Kat Timpf and Greg Gutfeld, the dynamic duo of sharp wit and political satire, have found themselves in surprisingly similar territory lately — navigating the unpredictable world of new parenthood.

On a recent episode of their joint podcast, the two opened up about the wild ride of raising kids, each from their own separate families, and the hilariously honest realities of being new parents.

“I used to think debating live on air was the most stressful part of my day,” Kat laughed. “Then came the 3 a.m. diaper explosions. Now I know true fear.”

Greg chimed in with his own tale of disaster: “I was feeling confident — I had the wipes, the fresh diaper, even soft lullaby music playing. But ten seconds in, I realized… I needed a hazmat suit.”

Though they’re not raising a child together, both Kat and Greg admitted that their parallel parenting journeys have brought them closer as friends — often swapping stories, advice, and the occasional “you won’t believe what just happened” text.

“We’re not co-parents in the traditional sense,” Greg clarified, “but we’re both first-time parents trying to figure it out in real time. There’s solidarity in that.”

Kat added, “It’s weirdly comforting to know someone else is also questioning their life choices while scraping baby food out of their hair.”

Despite the chaos, both agreed that the experience has been transformative. “Watching my child smile for the first time — nothing compares,” Kat said softly. “Even when I haven’t slept in days.”

And Greg? “I’ve had puke on my tie three days in a row and I’m still smiling. What’s happening to me?”

While Kat and Greg may not share a household, they do share something special — a raw, honest glimpse into the chaos and beauty of parenting. One diaper disaster at a time.
