Princess Catherine and Prince William attended Ascot, arriving at the parade ring in a horse-drawn carriage behind King Charles and Queen Camilla. The royal couple, whose last public appearance came on Monday for Garter Day at Windsor Castle, arrived in one of the four horse-drawn carriages that travelled from Windsor Great Park to the Ascot grandstand in a highly choreographed parade.

As the carriage drove past, someone in the crowds shouted something to Prince William. They said: “Up the Villa!” and the future king smiled. Posting to X, royal photographer @ChrisJack_Getty, penned: “When someone in the crowd shouts ‘Up The Villa’ – The Prince and Princess of Wales all smiles as they arrive at @Ascot today”

In response, the Prince can be seen laughing, and he said: “I think people are saying that now. Are you?”

When the person implies they’re a supporter, William raises his hand as if to suggest it’s good news. He then goes on to add: “Good season.”

The video has been shared hundreds of times since it was posted.

Replying to the clip, commenters praised Princess Catherine and Prince William.

Princess Catherine made her return to Royal Ascot after a few years of absence. In 2024, she skipped the racing event as she underwent treatment for cancer.

In 2025, she was originally scheduled to appear but ended up cancelling her appearance at the last-minute.

The occasion unfolds at the Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire, UK.

Reports suggest Royal Ascot attracts over 250,000 visitors throughout its five-day festival in June, establishing it as one of the largest and most heavily attended sporting events in the entire nation.
