Charlene White couldn’t help but call out her co-host for a bit of cheeky lie on the live broadcast of Loose Women. Joined by panellists Kelly Brook, Brenda Edwards, and Janet Street-Porter, it didn’t take long for Charlene to spot some dishonesty among them.

Taking a pause before diving into the day’s discussions, Charlene announced with a hint of drama: “I’m going to stop proceedings right now because we have liars among us. A liar, ladies and gentlemen. About 10 minutes ago on the program, Janet had a go at Kelly for eating meat on Good Friday… But Janet, you forget that social media exists sometimes don’t you, because one of our producers has found this.”

The show’s audience shared in a surprise moment when an image surfaced showing Janet eating a hearty seaside breakfast on Good Friday, featuring two conspicuous slices of bacon beneath her eggs, reports the Express. Quick on the draw, Charlene quipped: “This is Janet having breakfast by the sea on Friday morning, what do you see under the two fried eggs ladies and gentleman… I see bacon.”

A mix of laughter and mock outrage followed as Kelly demanded an apology, to which Janet offered a tongue-in-cheek response, still unwilling to concede full remorse: “A quick sorry but I’m not that sorry because most of the breakfast was egg.”

Charlene wrapped up the segment with a mix of seriousness and humour, stating: “That literally doesn’t count. Now we can go back to the show but I felt that needed to be highlighted.”

Janet quipped in response: “You just wanted to humiliate me but carry on.”

Charlene retorted: “That’s what you get for lying on national TV.”

Earlier, Kelly Brook had shared an anecdote about her husband Jeremy Parisi, who comes from a Catholic family, being reminded by his mother about the tradition of not eating meat on Fridays.

Kelly said: “On Friday he gets a message from his mother, ‘just to remind you, you’re not supposed to eat meat today’. At which point the guilt that came over his face because he’d already had a fry-up, had already been served.”

Janet interjected, claiming: “Even I didn’t eat meat on Friday. I banned meat in my home. We did not have a fry-up on Friday, we absolutely did not!”.
