Prince William and Kate Middleton began a new chapter in their lives with their three children, Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7, in their ‘forever home’.
The Prince and Princess of Wales moved into Forest Lodge on the Windsor estate on Friday after living in Adelaide Cottage for three years.

According to royal sources, the Wales family intends to make this their long-term residence and would continue living on the property even when William ascends to the throne.
“The Prince and Princess of Wales clearly love living in Windsor, the children are settled at Lambrook School nearby, and they will still be close to Windsor Castle for royal functions and engagements,” royal correspondent Danielle Stacey told Hello!.
The Prince of Wales has no plans to move into Buckingham Palace and will strictly treat it as Monarchy HQ.
She added, “Upsizing to the Forest Lodge allows the family more space and has already been viewed as their ‘forever home’, rather than having the children growing up within the walls of a palace.”

Even though the Wales family have made elaborate plans for Forest Lodge to be their ‘forever home’, the children will not be able to inherit the property.
William and Kate are renting the eight-bedroom property from the Crown Estate, which means that the mansion can be leased but not bought.
Per the lease, they would be required to pay “market rate” – a stark contrast to the “peppercorn rent” Andrew had paid for Royal Lodge over two decades.
Moreover, William and Kate have also paid for the renovations from their own pockets.
Forest Lodge may not officially pass on to the Wales children, but Prince George, who is second in line to the throne, will inherit the Duchy of Cornwall once his father becomes King.
