EXCLUSIVE: Despite Juliette and Joel telling the MAFS experts their marriage was on a positive trajectory, Juliette explosively ended things after her behaviour was criticised.

Speaking to nine.com.au, Joel revealed how he felt about Juliette obliterating their relationship and what he’s been doing in the time since.

 

When John Aiken, Alessandra Rampolla and Mel Schilling questioned why Juliette had repeatedly sprayed co-star Bec with vulgar language, the bride said the experiment was not for her and stormed out, effectively ending her relationship with Joel immediately.

“Although the last 10 days were trouble-free with Juliette and I, she was still the same person,” Joel reflected.

“She felt like I threw her under the bus at the last Commitment Ceremony, but that again is her trying to absolve herself of any sort of blame.

“She stormed out in a petulant and childish way and withdrew herself from the show and left a nice little mark on me as she was walking out,” Joel said, referring to Juliette calling him a “dog and a pig”.

While at the time Joel was hopeful about his marriage with Juliette, he realised his positivity was driving their relationship.

“I don’t need to be around that anymore, and I’m very happy with the way it ended, because it ended and it needed to end because she was very toxic to be around,” he said.

While Juliette may be having second thoughts, Joel has “absolutely no regrets”.

“I’m very proud of the way I conducted myself. I leave the experiment with my head held high and I had a great time, I had a lot of fun and made a lot of friends for life.”

As four participants leave.

For now, Joel is still single but is certainly open to dating.

“I just haven’t come across the right girl to go on a date with yet,” the 31-year-old said.

As for what’s next on the horizon? He has plenty planned.

“I’m just getting back into my routine. I work as a model so hopefully I get some photoshoots done and keep improving my mind, body and soul every single day.”
