This article contains spoilers for upcoming episodes of âMAFS AUâ yet to air in NZ.
âMarried At First Sight Australiaâ groom Scott McCristal has said heâll never speak to his on-screen wife Gia Fleur again after her âdisgusting behaviourâ on the show.
In a recent chat with ‘A Little Bit Extra’ podcast host Sharyn Casey, the 2026 groom dropped some major bombshells about his time inside the experiment and what we didn’t see when cameras weren’t around.
ICYMI –Â this week, the participants got to meet the alternative matches they could have tied the knot with. Gia met her potential hubby, James, and things quickly got heated between them.

Meanwhile, Scott hid in the bathroom, refusing to interact with his potential bride out of respect for his relationship with Gia.
In a heated exchange, Gia insisted that Scott leave the experiment with her before he saw the video of her interaction with James. Scott, however, chose to continue and watched the footage, which left him feeling betrayed and âusedâ in his relationship with her.
While NZ is a week behind the Australian airing and the final vows havenât been shown yet, reports of Gia seeing someone new suggests the pair didnât make it to the end.
Scott explained that weâre yet to see some rocky times ahead for the couple as the experiment comes to a close.
He claimed that during the experiment, Gia would consistently walk out, feeling guilty for âdoing the wrong thing.â
What hurt him the most, he said, were the off-camera interactions, where Gia âwould go offâ at him whenever he spoke up – something he was very nervous to address at the most recent commitment ceremony.
âI think thatâs what was pretty toxic about it all, because if I ever did say anything, as soon as we got home, she would just go off at me,” he said.
Where do ‘MAFS AU’ Scott and Gia stand now?
Scott called Giaâs recent social media posts âquite disrespectfulâ and said sheâs trying to âcover up her own mistakes and her own behaviour.â
He revealed he hasnât spoken to Gia since the end of the show.
Iâll never speak to her again, to be honest. Itâs disgusting behaviour, why would I want to talk to her?
Scott said he found out about Giaâs new relationship via mutual friends and sources who texted him the update.
âI reacted and laughed, going âif youâre trying to do that to try and peck me, I think itâs hilarious⊠you make yourself look even worseâ.â
Elsewhere in the podcast, Scott admitted that in the âoutside world,â he wouldnât have put up with half of what he did in the experiment.
âI would have run away in two seconds,â he said. âBut Iâm in the experiment, Iâm going to navigate through everything I possibly can. I forced myself to make it work.â
The more time went by, the more emotional I got, because obviously I wasnât with the right person.
As of now, Scott is focused on building his confidence and getting back to real life, so heâs not making himself available for a new relationship anytime soon.
Did Gia and Scott plan fake paparazzi pics?
During the experiment, multiple photos of the couple out in public were released, including one of them holding a pregnancy test. Sharyn wanted to know whether they were real or as fake as they seemed.
Turns out some were and some weren’t, but Scott was none the wiser…
âThe funny thing is, looking back now, I never knew what she was doing,” he said.
Scott says Gia would suggest going for a walk, but unbeknownst to him, she had allegedly made calls to the likes of Joshua Fox, who runs the popular MAFS Funny social media accounts, and other sources covering the showâs behind-the-scenes moments.
âSheâs been going on social media saying âScottâs there for cloutâ and I hadnât even done anything online. She was the one doing it the whole time.â
He claims he was ânever allowedâ to take a selfie without being questioned about who he might be sending it to.
If you want to hear more, Scott also talks about the big drama surrounding a secret night out with this year’s participants, whether he believes fellow 2026 groom, Danny, said Gia is his type, and other major moments from throughout the season.
