The pair reunited with Zara’s cousins Beatrice and Eugenie, while Lena’s playful antics delighted guests
The young daughters of Zara and Mike Tindall stole the show in the Cotswolds yesterday, as the pair shielded from the rain in colourful umbrellas and reunited with Princess Eugenie.
Mia, 12, and Lena, seven, joined their parents for the royal wedding of the year on Saturday, as Peter Phillips exchanged vows with NHS nurse Harriet Sperling in a heartwarming ceremony that brought the most distinguished members of the Royal Family together.
Notably, it meant a return to action for Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, who had not attended a family gathering since before February, when their father, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office.
They had been permitted by the King to skip April’s Easter Sunday service.
It means it has likely been some months since the Tindalls have come face-to-face with either Beatrice or Eugenie. Zara is said to share a close bond with her cousins.
This was evident when the mother-of-three embraced Beatrice before entering the church, as Zara approached with her arms spread, while Beatrice appeared genuinely delighted.
And Mia, dressed in a blue-and-white floral print dress with a headband and clear umbrella, followed in her mum’s footsteps when she was seen hugging Eugenie.
The princess is expecting her third child this summer, after announcing her pregnancy to the world in April.

The meeting comes at a moment of controversy for the sisters, after a bombshell National Audit Office report revealed they had been living rent-free in their royal accommodations, located in St James’s Palace and Kensington Palace.
While the pair had been charged rent at around 60 per cent of the market value, it had been paid out of the King’s Privy Purse. The royal household will now review its royal properties and rent agreements.
Just like her younger brother, Lucas, five, Lena was not going to attend yesterday’s service quietly.

Lena delighted guests with her playful behaviour in the drizzle as she laughed and pulled faces with her dad, Mike
The Tindalls’ middle child, who wore a cream dress with a floral print and held a unicorn umbrella, delighting guests with her playful behaviour in the drizzle as she laughed and pulled faces with her dad, Mike.
The scene bore a remarkable resemblance to Mia’s appearance at Aintree earlier this year.
Lena held her vibrant umbrella aloft to reach her father’s head before giggling. The youngsters’ use of umbrellas typified the gloomy and wet weather that unfortunately loomed over the day’s events – but categorically failed to dampen any spirits.
The 48-year-old groom, Princess Anne’s eldest son and Queen Elizabeth II’s first grandchild, watched on with glee as his bride walked down the aisle escorted by her brother Nicholas, paying tribute to their late father Rupert Sanders.
The bride, 45, looked glorious in a white Emilia Wickstead bridal gown featuring a square neckline and delicate lace detailing. She completed her ensemble with Jimmy Choo shoes and Pragnell earrings, her hair swept into an elegant bun to showcase a shimmering family tiara.
While Peter and Harriet exited All Saints Church, also under the protection of a white umbrella, the pair beamed as they entered their car to arrive at the reception, held at Princess Anne’s Gatcombe Park home.
The King and Queen were in high spirits as they waved to onlookers, and the Princess of Wales looked radiant alongside her husband as they were met with great cheers by local crowds.
