Man United âthreaten legend Nicky Butt with having his season ticket REVOKEDâ â and Paul Scholes says heâs had to resort to using touts: Fans fume over clubâs lack of âloyaltyâ
Man United legends Nicky Butt and Paul Scholes have opened up on their struggles to get tickets for matches at Old Trafford.
The pair were part of Unitedâs iconic Class of 92 and both enjoyed huge success for their boyhood club.
Scholes played 718 times for the Red Devils and won 25 trophies â including 11 Premier League titles â while Butt featured on 387 occasions and lifted 15 honours before moving to Newcastle in 2004.
But, speaking on The Good, The Bad & The Football podcast on Monday, Butt and Scholes bemoaned the difficulties they face in being able to watch United these days.
âItâs a very different football club to the club we knew,â Scholes began. âI donât know about you Nicky, you worked there quite recently, but I donât really know anybody there.â
Butt added: âI donât know anybody there.â

Scholes then explained how he has to go to other means to get his tickets, and said he has even been forced to use a tout.
âI have four season tickets so we use them⊠my son uses them every single week,â he added.
âYou get people asking (for tickets). Iâve had a Salford lad who wants to got to the game this week â a couple of tickets.
âSo Iâve had to ring a tout? Am I allowed to say that? Honestly, I know a tout.â
Butt then detailed his own experiences and revealed he has been threatened with having his season ticket revoked despite the legendary status he holds at Old Trafford.
âMy lad has got the same thing,â he explained. âIf you donât use them three times you get them taken off you.
âIâve had an email saying âyouâre having your ticket taken off youâ. So I rang them up and said can I speak to somebody about this please? And they go âwho am I speaking to please?â, and I go Nicky Butt and they go, âOK, well whoâs that?ââ
Scholes jumped in and joked: âWhoâs that? Is that the one who used to play for Newcastle?â

Butt added: âI couldnât really say it but I felt like saying: I played about 450 games for this club!â
Scholes went on to show his humility as he claimed he doesnât deserve special treatment despite his background.
He said: âIâm not complaining about that. Thatâs just the way it is and the way it happens. Just because you played for the club, youâre not entitled to stuff.â
Host Paddy McGuinness then interjected and exclaimed: âHang on a minute! The amount of games you played, your life long service as a player for United, you gave everything to the club.â
Scholes replied: âYeah but we only played for them. Youâre going back 13 years now for the last time I played.
âWe donât mind paying for them, we just donât know who to ring because the club is just different, itâs a different football club.â
Daily Mail Sport understands the club would issue legends such as Scholes and Butt tickets if approached directly.
Nevertheless, the pairâs comments left fans shocked, and they were quick to hit out at Unitedâs supposed failure to look after their former players.

Several fans were quick to hit out at the club after Butt and Scholes detailed their struggles (pictured â United part-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe)
One said: âShambles. No loyalty, happens at a lot of clubs, but for these two at that club itâs outrageous.
âThe owner should be all over them and they should have their own box between them with security and they can go any time. All of them should and the box should fit as many legends it needs to fit in every game.
âAnd let me tell you the next generation see this and fans and clubs wonder why the players now donât give a s*** ⊠why would you?â
Another added: âNeed to roll the red carpet out for Scholes, absolute United legend, baller, one club man.â
A further fan quipped: âBoth lads are very entitled to free tickets. Legends,â before an extra fan said: âThe soul of the club has been ripped out.â
