Prince William’s weekend plans have been revealed, and he’ll have plenty to talk about with his daughter, Princess Charlotte.

It was confirmed on July 23 that the Prince of Wales, 43, will attend the final of the Women’s Euros on July 27 to cheer on the Lionesses.

The Lionesses is the nickname for the England women’s soccer team and soccer super fan Prince William will appear in his role as patron of the Football Association, the governing body of English soccer.

The game is set to take place at St. Jakob-Park in Basel, Switzerland, on Sunday, and the Lionesses scored their spot after beating Italy 2-1 in the semi-finals on July 22, with both King Charles and Prince William’s offices sending congratulations on social media.

“Brilliant performance @lionesses! One game from glory! #WEURO2025,” Prince William and Kate Middleton’s team wrote on the couple’s Instagram Stories, sharing a photo of the squad celebrating the thrilling win.

Prince William has previously shown support for the Lionesses this season by visiting the team at their training base stadium before the Euros tournament and traveling to Switzerland to see their Euro match against the Netherlands on July 9.

The Prince of Wales’ latest plans to cheer on the Lionesses will surely have the approval of one young fan at home — his daughter Charlotte.

While all three of Prince William and Princess Kate’s children — Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7 — have inherited their father’s love of soccer, Charlotte, in particular, has shown a special interest in England’s women’s team, the Lionesses. The young princess joined her father in recorded messages wishing the team luck ahead of both the 2022 Women’s World Cup and 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup — bringing along a soccer ball for the latter.

“Good luck, Lionesses!” Princess Charlotte said in that festive message, filmed outdoors as she and William sat on a bench together.

Prince William has previously described his only daughter as a “budding star” in soccer and passed along a message from Charlotte to the national team when he visited them in 2022.

“Charlotte wanted me to tell you that she is really good at goal. She said, ‘Please tell them that,’ ” the heir to the throne told the Lionesses then. “She’s a budding star for the future.”

The Prince and Princess of Wales are raising their kids with an appreciation for sports and athletic activities, and brought along George and Charlotte to the men’s singles finals of the Wimbledon Championships last week on July 13 in a surprise appearance.
