Prince Harry and Meghan Markle issue emotional messages as ‘royal storm’ rumbles on: ‘It’s ok not to be ok’

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have embarked on a string of important visits

rince Harry and Meghan Markle recently embarked on a humanitarian trip to Jordan for a series of meaningful visits.

During the trip, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex joined a delegation from the World Health Organization for a visit to the National Centre for Rehabilitation of Addicts.

They listened to a group of men describing the emotional toll of addiction and how the centre has helped them.

Then, Harry, 41, and Meghan, 44, were invited to write messages of support.

The National Centre for Rehabilitation of Addicts has “served as a short-term residential and outpatient treatment centre offering medical withdrawal services, psychological support and social counselling,” according to WHO.

During their visit, Harry and Meghan, who left senior royal duties in 2020, left their handwritten messages of support for patients.

Prince Harry’s sticky note read: “It’s ok to not be ok. Trust each other. Congratulations on your recovery. Now share your courage and experience.”

Meanwhile, Meghan’s said: “Congratulations on your dedication to your care. Wishing you continued healing and happiness.”

Harry and Meghan’s trip comes amid a turbulent time for the royal family following the arrest of his uncle, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.

Andrew was arrested on February 19, his 66th birthday, on suspicion of misconduct in public office. The specific details of the allegations of misconduct being investigated are unknown. However, it comes after he faced allegations that he shared confidential and sensitive documents with late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Hours after his arrest on February 19, he was released under investigation.

Body language expert Judi James analysed Harry and Meghan’s trip with the Daily Mail. She said: “Harry and Meghan appeared to navigate their way through the current royal storm without touching the sides with a display of playful, simple and status-free body language, suggesting a core focus on purpose rather than pomp.”

Why are Harry and Meghan in Jordan?

This week, the duke and duchess embarked on a humanitarian trip to Jordan.

According to their website, the couple’s reason to visit is to “witness how the country stands tall as a regional hub for humanitarian and moral leadership — from its partnership with the World Health Organization to its frontline role in the medical response to the crisis in Gaza”.

They first visited WHO’s offices in Amman. They joined a roundtable discussion focused on Jordan’s leadership in regional health response.

Meanwhile, the duke and duchess then travelled to Za’atari Refugee Camp to visit the Questscope Youth Centre. During this visit, they met with young people from Syria participating in music, photography, sport and art therapy programmes.

The couple learned how these programmes help the young people “process trauma, build confident and imagine a future beyond war and displacement,” according to Harry and Meghan’s website.

Meghan Markle compared to Princess Diana

Elsewhere, in one moment Meghan was compared to Harry’s late mother, Princess Diana, as she made a gesture.

During a visit, Meghan struck a pose very similar to one Diana used to perform.

Body language expert Judi added to the Mail: “Like Diana, Meghan placed both hands in a clasp over her chest to signal affection and delight, tilted her head and bent her torso backwards in a curve to show a sense of playful humility and relatability.”

Judi said Diana would often make this “iconic self-effacing pose when being given a gift or some flowers”.

Meghan and Harry’s gesture to royal family

Ahead of their trip, Harry and Meghan reportedly extended an olive branch to the royal family.

They reportedly notified Buckingham Palace in advance about their two-day trip to Jordan.

As Express reports, a Sussex official said: “Our work programmes are separate and independently organised, but as a matter of curtesy, yes, they have been informed.”

Last year, reports claimed that Harry had shared his official schedule of engagements and outings with the palace to avoid conflicts between his and Meghan’s outings and the royal family’s engagements.
