Heartbroken Father Speaks Out After Three Sisters Found Dead In Sea Off Brighton Beach

A devastated father has spoken publicly for the first time after his three daughters were found dead in the sea off Brighton beach in a tragedy that has shocked communities across the UK.

The sisters — Jane Adetoro, 36, Christina Walters, 32, and Rebecca Walters, 31 — died during the early hours of May 13 after getting into difficulty in the water near Black Rock, close to Brighton Marina.

The women, who lived in Uxbridge, west London, had reportedly been visiting the East Sussex seaside resort before the tragedy unfolded.

Now, their grieving father Joseph has released an emotional tribute describing the “unbearable” pain of losing all three daughters at once.

“Jane, Christina, and Becky were more than daughters to me; they were my joy, my strength, and the beautiful light that filled our family with happiness and love,” he said.

He went on to remember each daughter individually, describing Jane’s strength, Christina’s kindness, and Becky’s joyful spirit.

“The tragedy of losing all three of you has left an emptiness that words cannot heal,” Joseph added in the heartbreaking statement.

Emergency services were first called to Brighton beach at around 5:45am after concerns were raised for a person in the water. The situation quickly escalated into a massive emergency response as the sisters’ bodies were later recovered from the sea.

Authorities say detectives are still working to establish exactly how the women entered the water, though investigators currently have no evidence suggesting criminal involvement or third-party actions.

Police have reviewed hundreds of hours of CCTV footage and conducted extensive door-to-door inquiries across the Brighton seafront area in an attempt to reconstruct the sisters’ final movements.

Officers are particularly appealing to anyone who may have seen the women near Madeira Drive between 10pm on May 12 and 5:30am the following morning.

One theory reportedly being examined by investigators and Coastguard officials involves the dangerous underwater conditions near Brighton beach itself.

According to Coastguard sources, the shoreline in that section of Brighton slopes sharply into deep water, creating sudden drop-offs that can catch swimmers and paddlers off guard within seconds.

Officials believe one of the sisters may have entered the water and gotten into difficulty after stumbling beyond a steep shingle shelf where the seabed suddenly falls away. The others may then have entered the sea attempting to help.

Rescue teams faced difficult conditions during the search operation.

An HM Coastguard helicopter, multiple Coastguard Rescue Teams, and three RNLI lifeboats were deployed during the large-scale emergency response along the Sussex coastline.

The tragedy has deeply shaken Brighton residents and people across the country, with many expressing heartbreak over the devastating loss of three sisters from the same family.

Local officials, including Brighton and Hove City Council leader Bella Sankey, described the incident as “shocking and deeply saddening.”

Meanwhile, Chief Superintendent Adam Hays of Sussex Police vowed investigators would “leave no stone unturned” in determining exactly what led to the heartbreaking events that morning.
