Max B Performs Jim Jones Diss After Suggesting Beef Is Over
Max previously said he wanted to “start over” with Jones.
Days after suggesting their beef was over, Max B performed a Jim Jones diss track, seemingly reigniting it.
On Nov. 28, Max B performed “We Sip Grand Cru” at the release party for Stove God Cooks’ Goat Stamp in New York City. With the track’s explicit references to Jones, specifically the line “Jimmy mad that Chrissy touched it in Miami,” there’s no mistaking who it was for, or what the track referenced.
Max B performing the track seems like a complete 180 from his stance on his beef with Jones ahead of his release from prison earlier this month. In June, he squashed their years-long squabble during an interview with Drink Champs.
According to the rapper, being in prison changed his outlook on a lot of things, including his beef with Jones.
“Listen, Jim said a bunch of hard shit about me. So, we all say hard shit about each other, okay?” said Max. “Jim done wished me dead, all type of shit. It’s all good. Listen, man. It’s love, man. I want to start over. I’m a new man. I’m a married man. I got four kids.”
“Like, I’m on a whole different time right now, my n***a I’m out here to get my money and ride out the sunset with this shit,” Max added. “It’s in there for me, though. I’m going tell you that. So that’s the goal.”
Last month, Jones spoke about the possibility of reconciliation with Max in an episode of his podcast, Let’s Rap About It. Jones admitted that he’s petty and not necessarily over their past squabbles.
“I may forgive, I don’t forget,” Jones said. “And even if I forgive, I’m not here to make anybody feel comfortable.”
Though not ready to bury the hatchet, Jones clarified that his feelings don’t mean he’s ready to start beefing with Max again.
“I don’t give a fuck about what nobody do,” he said. “I’m not actively pursuing nothing but this money.”
