Nancy Guthrie’s security footage reveals new clue about kidnapper as desperate search continues 

Authorities searching for Nancy Guthrie are investigating a new clue in the chilling doorbell camera footage of her alleged abductor uncovered last week.

Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos told NBC News on Tuesday that the security clips may have revealed a pinky ring on the kidnapper’s hand beneath their glove.

“I look at the same photo you look at [of the person seemingly tampering with Guthrie’s camera], and I get it,” the official told the outlet. “I see it.”

He added, “I’m going to give that to my team. They’ll look at that. They’ll analyze it and we’ll see. Maybe it is [a ring].”

The possibility comes amid a major blow to the case, more than two weeks into Savannah Guthrie’s mom vanishing from her Tucson, Ariz., home.

Although officials discovered a glove matching the one the suspect wore two miles from the 84-year-old’s residence, DNA on it did not match records in the FBI’s Combined DNA Index System (CODIS) database.

The glove, which was initially tested in Florida, was retested in Arizona — with no hits either time.

Nanos shared the disappointing news via X, clarifying that “the DNA found at the property is being analyzed & further testing needs to be done as part of the investigation.”

That DNA, Nanos revealed Friday, does not belong to anyone “close” to Nancy.

The matriarch’s family members — including Savannah and the “Today” show anchor‘s siblings, Annie Guthrie and Camron Guthrie — have all been cleared as suspects as of Monday.

Prior to that announcement, officials were “actively looking at everyone.”

In the most recent, the Daytime Emmy winner pleaded, “It is never too late to do the right thing. … We believe in the essential goodness of every human being.”

Federal investigators are now tracing a fourth ransom note that surfaced on February 18, which reportedly utilizes a more sophisticated encryption method than the previous Bitcoin demands. Despite the lack of a DNA match from the recovered glove, the FBI has pivoted its strategy toward genetic genealogy, hoping to cross-reference the “unknown male profile” with public ancestry databases to find a familial link to the suspect. For Savannah and her siblings, the wait in Tucson has become a grueling cycle of administrative briefings and silent vigils, as they remain steadfast in their belief that a peaceful resolution is still possible if the captor chooses to “do the right thing” before the window of opportunity for Nancy’s medical safety closes entirely.
