Castle Hill: Trio charged with murder after man plunged 15 metres from a fourth-storey balcony

Two men and a woman have been charged with murder after a man plunged 15 metres from a fourth-storey balcony and suffered critical injuries.

Residents said they heard frantic cries for help coming from an apartment on Crane Road in Castle Hill during the early hours of Sunday morning.

Paramedics found a 44-year-old man with critical injuries in a garden area outside the unit block in Sydney‘s north-west about 2.40am.

The man was treated at the scene, but could not be revived.

It’s understood a party was being hosted inside the apartment before the fatal fall, but by the time police officers arrived, the guests had left.

It’s believed the man did not live at the unit.

Todd David Ryan, 38, Viet Phong Pham, 30, and Jade McCaskie, 34, were arrested this week and charged with murder.

Ryan faced Parramatta Local Court on Thursday.

Pham and McCaskie’s cases were mentioned in the Bail Division Court on Friday and adjourned to Parramatta Local Court on July 16.

Neither Pham nor McCaskie applied for bail but solicitor Justin Wong, for McCaskie, indicated his client would be making a release application on another day.

Pham was represented by prominent criminal lawyer Bryan Wrench.

NSW Police said inquiries will continue under Strike Force Sunbach.
