Meghan Markle was reportedly brutally “snubbed” by a major A-Lister on her Netflix show. In March this year, the Duchess of Sussex, 43, released her cooking and lifestyle show, With Love, Meghan, which saw her joined by different guests for each episode.
Throughout the programme, Meghan, 43, would cook with her guest, showing them some of her favourite recipes. Some of those who appeared on the show include US actresses Mindy Kaling and her former Suits co-star, Abigail Spencer.
While these guests are well-known, it has been reported that Meghan wanted major A-lister, Dolly Parton, to star alongside her, however, her invite was said to be snubbed by the world-famous singer.
It is believed Dolly, who also has her own range of baking products and cookbooks, would have been an ideal guest on the show, which has been renewed for a second season.
The claim that the singer snubbed the invite was made by celebrity commentator Kinsey Schofield, who told Daily Mail journalist Maureen Callahan in an episode of her podcast in May: “They don’t want to risk Dolly’s reputation Q Score (measurement of a celebrity’s appeal) [and] her popularity by associating with Meghan Markle.
“They knew that this ask was just to give Meghan Markle credibility in this lifestyle space, a space that Dolly does have a lot of credibility in.”
As reported by The Daily Mail, a spokesperson from Meghan’s series has denied Kinsey allegations.
n a statement to Page Six, they wrote: “This story is false. At no point did anybody from the show’s production or Netflix approach Dolly Parton or her team to appear on With Love, Meghan.”
It is not yet known what guests are set to appear on season two of the show, or when this next set of episodes will be released.
However, it has been reported that Prince Harry won’t appear on the second season of his wife’s show, having appeared on the first series in the final episode for just a few minutes.
The couple’s children Prince Archie, six, and Princess Lilibet, four are also not expected to appear on the show.
