A devastated father has left people across the UK in tears after paying tribute to his three daughters who tragically died in the sea off Brighton beach.

The sisters — Jane Adetoro, 36, Christina Walters, 32, and Rebecca Walters, 31 — were officially named after their bodies were recovered from the water near Black Rock, close to Brighton Marina, during the early hours of May 13.

Now, heartbreaking words from their father Joseph are spreading rapidly online as communities struggle to process the unimaginable loss suffered by one family.

“No words can truly describe the pain of losing three daughters in the prime of their lives,” Joseph said in his emotional tribute.

“Jane, Christina, and Becky were more than daughters to me; they were my joy, my strength, and the beautiful light that filled our family with happiness and love.”

His statement has deeply moved people nationwide, especially as flowers, candles, and handwritten messages continue appearing along the Brighton shoreline where the tragedy unfolded.

Friends and relatives described the sisters as inseparable, full of warmth, laughter, and deeply loved by everyone around them.

Many online users said the father’s tribute became even more heartbreaking when he spoke about the memories that now remain behind.

“The tragedy of losing all three of you has left an emptiness that words cannot heal,” he wrote.

Police say the women, who lived in Uxbridge, west London, had been visiting Brighton before the devastating incident occurred.

Emergency crews first responded at around 5:45am after concerns were raised for a person in the water.

The situation quickly escalated into a major emergency response involving Sussex Police, HM Coastguard helicopters, RNLI lifeboats, and multiple rescue teams searching the sea near Madeira Drive and Black Rock.

Now, investigators are continuing to piece together the sisters’ final movements before they entered the water.

Detectives have reviewed hundreds of hours of CCTV footage and conducted extensive door-to-door inquiries around Brighton seafront businesses and nearby properties.

Authorities say there is currently no evidence suggesting criminal involvement or third-party actions.

But one haunting detail is now becoming central to the investigation.

According to Coastguard sources familiar with the area, Brighton beach contains a dangerous underwater drop-off where shallow water can suddenly collapse into much deeper sections beneath the surface.

Investigators are reportedly exploring the theory that one of the sisters may have entered the water first before suddenly getting into difficulty near the steep shingle shelf.

The others may then have entered the sea attempting to rescue her.

Experts warn the area can become extremely dangerous because shifting pebbles, crashing waves, and strong backwash currents make it difficult for swimmers to regain balance or return safely to shore once pulled into deeper water.

The heartbreaking possibility that the sisters may have desperately tried saving each other has only intensified public emotion surrounding the tragedy.

“It’s almost impossible to imagine the fear they must have felt,” one social media user wrote after details emerged online.

Meanwhile, Sussex Police say the investigation remains ongoing as authorities continue searching for answers about exactly what happened during the sisters’ final moments.

Chief Superintendent Adam Hays promised officers would “leave no stone unturned” while trying to understand the devastating sequence of events.

For many people following the tragedy, however, the emotional center of the story remains one shattered father mourning the loss of all three daughters at once.

And now, as tributes continue growing beside the sea where the sisters lost their lives, much of the country is grieving alongside him.
