Netflix’s Famous Last Words interview with actor Eric Dane has left fans heartbroken after the Grey’s Anatomy legend died from ALS aged 53.
The actor, also known for his roles in Charmed and Euphoria, announced his diagnosis with the neurodegenerative disease in April 2025, just 10 months before his passing on 19th February.
Before his death, he took part in Netflix’s posthumous interview series which “gives audiences around the world the opportunity to hear from a cultural icon after they’ve passed away”, which has now been released.
Dane used the platform to open up about the challenges and successes of his life and career, including his battle with drugs and alcohol and his romance with ex-wife actress and model Rebecca Gayheart, with whom he had two daughters.

During his speech, Dane encouraged his children to “cherish every moment”, “fall in love”, “choose your friends wisely”, and “fight with every ounce of your being, and with dignity”.
He concluded: “When you face challenges, health or otherwise, fight. Never give up. Fight until your last breath. This disease is slowly taking my body, but it will never take my spirit.
“Billie and Georgia, you are my heart. You are my everything. Good night. I love you. Those are my last words.”
