Good Morning Britain viewers expressed their “shock” as they watched Richard Madeley continuously “shut down” co-host Kate Garraway during a chaotic interview.

The two presenters kept talking over each other during a chat with abuse survivor Ellie Reynolds, with Mr Madeley going as far as to raise his hand to silence Ms Garraway as she tried to chime in.

Ms Reynolds joined the two via video link to talk about her resignation from the grooming gangs inquiry panel.

Viewers watching at home were “frustrated” and distracted during the interview though as the hosts appeared to be fighting to be heard.

Ms Reynolds expressed her belief that the inquiry “would be forgotten about soon”.

She shared: “I feel like the aim of that panel was to eliminate our voices and to silence us. It was basically to find out what we knew so that they knew how to cover it up in advance.”

Both ITV stars tried to respond at the same time, which had been a consistent theme throughout the discussion.

Ms Garraway began: “That is sickening,” while Mr Madeley started to ask: “Why do you think…”

GMB fans weren’t impressed by the chaotic interview

Ms Garraway tried to continue, gesturing she had something to add from her notes, but Mr Madeley held up his hand and demanded “Hold on a minute.”

The broadcaster seemed visibly annoyed as she allowed Mr Madeley to continued speaking.

Her lips pursed, Ms Garraway fell silent and awkwardly looked towards her co-host.

Fans expressed their annoyance at the unprofessional tone of the interview, with several calling for different presenters to take over.
