Rihanna’s accused shooter offers bizarre motive for attack on singer’s mansion
The woman who allegedly fired shots at Rihanna’s Beverly Hills mansion posted a string of unhinged videos that appeared to offer a bizarre motive for the attack.
Ivanna Ortiz claimed the pop megastar was “stealing” from her, was “jealous” of her and was a “witch” with a “devil’s face” in a series of clips on her YouTube channel.
The 35-year-old was arrested Sunday night after shots were fired at the pop megastar’s sprawling property while she was home.

Her rambling social media posts depicted an obsessed stalker who held a vicious grudge against the singer for a raft of bizarre reasons.
In one she says: “Got Rihanna over there all jealous… because how am I… how am I… because her face is the devil. Rihanna’s face is the devil.
“I don’t like her and she’s always trying to steal from me. And she has not ever put out any music to reach people. She only put out her little music so she could do witchcraft…
“And so that she can steal from people. So everybody please stop… don’t listen to her, don’t follow her… because she’s stealing from you.

“So you guys need to wake up and don’t give that girl any attention… she can’t come over here and steal my thoughts.”
She continued in another video: “Even though the devil and Rihanna are really loud, God and Jesus Christ are doing something… and myself.
“Because the devil, he doesn’t want it to be me, he doesn’t want me to be a Christian woman of God, because that’s what it is, I’m indifferent to Rihanna, I’m indifferent to a lot of your girls devil.

“Rihanna and the devil may be loud, they may be very loud, but that’s not power, that’s not power. Me and Jesus Christ are good.”
In one more, she adds: “Listen Rihanna, when you die God will take me to my future. You want to kill me. Shut the f*** up.
“Yeah she’s a witch. I’m a watchman. Get that stupid girl out of here. They can’t do this. They can’t do this.”
Insiders revealed Rihanna “doesn’t understand” why her family was targeted. Sources said she “is freaking the f–k out” after the woman shot at her property with an AR-15-style rifle.
One told People: “Rihanna heard the shots, but was initially confused about what happened. Even with a great security team in place, it’s scary to realize that something like this can still happen.”
They added that the incident was “terrifying” for the popstar, but she’s “[thankful] everyone is safe.”

Another insider close to Rihanna told the Post the singer is taking extra safety precautions after the attack. She has rescheduled at least one photo shoot due to the shooting, the source said.
Details about Ortiz’s turbulent life began to seep out on Monday morning, with it emerging she was previously arrested for attacking her ex in front of their child.
She was detained in June 2023 and charged with battery (domestic violence) following an incident with her ex-husband, whom Page Six will refer to as John Doe, outside her apartment in Orlando, Florida.
According to the police report obtained by the Post, Doe told responding officer he and his ex-wife had agreed via text for him to drop their daughter off at her apartment.
Ortiz allegedly told Doe not to be late, and an argument via text ensued. According to the officer, who looked through Doe’s phone, Ortiz texted her ex, “You’ll be getting socked on the nose tonight.”
A few minutes later, she wrote, “What’s it going to be twin, your [sic] calling the shots tonight and I’m throwing punches.”
The officer noted that at no point during the conversation did Doe threaten to do any harm to Ortiz. Instead, he said he wanted them to raise their daughter in peace.

When Doe arrived at Ortiz’s apartment, he said he began filming on his cellphone. When Ortiz opened the door, she allegedly called him a “f—-t,” which led to a verbal dispute.
Doe said he then instructed their daughter to leave with him. As he turned and began walking away, Ortiz allegedly lunged at him and attempted to grab his phone. He claimed she missed and lunged at him again, prompting him to push her away.
Ortiz fell to the ground, got back up and allegedly started throwing punches at Doe, who once again pushed her away and attempted to hold her down. He said he repeatedly told her to stop.
After hearing the commotion, a neighbor came out, and the exes separated. Doe then called 911. The responding officer observed a scratch on the right side of his face.
The officer also attempted to speak with the daughter, who was extremely upset. The officer noted that she was crying to the point of hyperventilating and said multiple times that she didn’t want anyone to get in trouble or go to jail.
Meanwhile, Ortiz told the officer that Doe kept provoking her when he showed up to her apartment, so she grabbed at his phone.
When she did, she alleged that he struck her with it and pushed her to the ground, at which point she claimed he pulled her hair and placed his hand on her neck.

Ortiz admitted that Doe used his hand to subdue her and not choke her, adding that she began punching at him to defend herself.
“I find Ivanna Otriz to be the primary aggressor of the above incident,” the officer wrote in the police report, noting that the daughter was left in Doe’s custody.
Ortiz was arrested three months later for allegedly violating pretrial release conditions associated with the domestic battery case. She was also nabbed for careless driving in September 2021.
In the weeks leading up to the shooting, Ortiz posted a series of erratic messages and videos on social media that referenced several celebrities — most notably Rihanna.
In a Feb. 23 Facebook post, Ortiz shared a photo of herself while directly tagging the singer’s account.
“@badgalriri — Are you there?” she wrote. “’Cause I was waiting for your AIDS 5-head self to say something to me directly instead of sneaking around like you’re talking to me where I’m not at.”

There is no evidence to support the claim made in the social media post.
In another post dated Feb. 17, Ortiz shared an image of rapper Drake with the caption: “When Drake found out Rihanna has AIDS,” adding the hashtag “#champagnepapi.”
Several other posts also mentioned Rihanna in hostile terms. In a Dec. 20 post, Ortiz wrote that she was “already through with Rihanna,” while also referencing reality star Kim Kardashian.
“I restricted that stupid b* Kim Kardashian,” she wrote in the same message. “Your turn hiding b*, stop begging for a look.”
Ortiz continued referencing Rihanna in later posts. In a Jan. 19 video tied to Martin Luther King Jr. Day, she claimed she was “with @badgalriri,” though it was unclear what she meant.
Rihanna was not the only celebrity mentioned in Ortiz’s posts.
In one of her most recent videos, she appeared to address rapper Cardi B while filming herself speaking into a mirror.
“You can’t f–k with me, Cardi B,” she said in the clip. “You are supposedly busy right now. You ain’t messing with me.”

Ortiz’s social media accounts also reveal pieces of her personal background. In a photo posted Dec. 19, she shared an image of herself posing with trophies, identifying herself as “Miss Teen Illinois Latina Princess 2006,” suggesting she may have participated in beauty pageants.
Her Instagram account is no longer available and appears to have been deactivated.
Ortiz also maintained a YouTube channel where she posted a series of videos titled “Praying Women’s Journal,” documenting a 60-day prayer challenge.
Court records show Ortiz had previously filed legal action connected to the entertainment industry. In 2025, she submitted a verified emergency petition against Live Nation Worldwide — Rihanna’s concert promoter — and the city of Orlando seeking to halt a concert by pop star Billie Eilish at the Kia Center.
In the filing, Ortiz asked a court to issue a temporary injunction blocking the event, alleging organizers had failed to obtain a proper special-event permit and a required noise waiver.

Live Nation has historically partnered with Rihanna on major concert tours, though there is no indication the petition was connected to the singer directly. Rihanna bought the $13.8 million mansion in 2021.
The five-bedroom, seven-bathroom estate stands at 7,600 square feet in the same neighborhood as homes belonging to the likes of Mariah Carey, Madonna and Paul McCartney.
This is not the first time the Grammy-winning superstar has endured a scare at home.
Back in 2018, a 27-year-old man broke into Rihanna’s Hollywood Hills residence after hopping a fence, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
The alleged intruder — identified by prosecutors as Eduardo Leon — slipped inside the property while the singer was away and camped out in the house for roughly 12 hours before being discovered by one of her assistants.
Leon later pleaded no contest to stalking and was slapped with a 10-year stay-away order, barring him from going anywhere near the pop icon.
Since welcoming her firstborn, Rihanna has confessed she would “not play” when it comes to her kids, saying she took a page from “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” star Teresa Giudice.
“She will flatten you about those kids,” she told Teen Vogue in 2022. “And that resonates with me a lot because I feel like that’s the type of mom I’m going to be.”
Rihanna — whose real name is Robyn Rihanna Fenty — rose to prominence in the early 2000s with hit songs like “Pon de Replay” and “Umbrella.”
Since then, she has expanded beyond music, turning her success into a major business venture. Through her Fenty label, she has built a global brand that includes cosmetics, fashion and lingerie.
