Nicki Minaj took the occasion of Foxy Brown‘s birthday to recall her very first meeting with the Brooklyn icon, who Minaj has long proclaimed her biggest influence.
Foxy turned 46 on Friday (September 6), and Minaj marked the occasion in numerous ways: by having her DJ warm up her show’s crowd in Pittsburgh by playing some of Brown’s music; by encouraging her fans to wish “King Fox” happy birthday on social media; and by thinking back to the first time the two stars met.
Nicki and Foxy conducted a joint interview for The Come Up DVD back in 2009. On X, Nicki remembered it like it was yesterday.
“First time I met her on the come up dvd i couldn’t stop complimenting her,” she wrote. “Looked better in person. Soft ass beautiful skin. From hair to toe. Every feature on that face did what needed to be done!!! the PRETTIEST!!! And there’s no runner up!!!”

Nicki is less than a week away from the release of the deluxe edition of her chart-topping Pink Friday 2 album, dubbed Gag City Reloaded.
Late last month, the Queen Barb took to Instagram to let fans know when they can expect the new project while sharing carousel of photos of her with her husband, Kenneth “Zoo” Petty
Alongside photos of Nicki flaunting her figure in bikinis and cozying up to her man, the slideshow included potential artwork for the deluxe album which revealed its release date of September 13.
The Young Money rapper captioned the post: “9.13.24 #GagCityRELOADED THE DELUXE ALBUM [CD emoji].”
Though Nicki Minaj has yet to confirm which songs will appear on Pink Friday 2: Gag City Reloaded, she did fuel excitement with a lofty claim about the deluxe on X (formerly Twitter).
“Well, Barbz- Didn’t really want to have to speak on this but I just can’t stay quiet about it any longer,” she addressed her 28.1 million followers.
“Last night, I recorded what will probably be your favorite song on the deluxe. It will immediately go into your TOP 5 of the entire PF2 era. OH MY FREAKING GOODNESSWDRFFHJKGV.”
Hinting at a high-profile collaboration, she added in another post: “WHOA […] THE VERSE I JUST GOT BACK FOR #GagCityRELOADED the DELUXE ALBUM.”
