Stephen Mulhern has exposed the growing tension at ITV as he teased the brand-new series of Deal or No Deal. The 48-year-old presenter picked up the mantle from former host Noel Edmonds when the quiz show was rebooted in 2023, seven years after it was taken off the airwaves. Since then, he has gone from strength to strength as the new host of the long-running show.
On Tuesday (January 13), the broadcaster took to X – formerly known as Twitter – to tease the new series of the new afternoon show online. Mulhern couldn’t help but tease viewers with nail-biting behind-the-scenes insights as he reflected on filming so far.
He penned: “I can’t believe it! The £100k box reached the table AGAIN today… and our player didn’t take it! The tension was off the scale. Is this series where someone finally lands the jackpot? Find out on the BRAND NEW episodes of Deal or No Deal, every weekday, 4pm on ITV & ITVX!”
It didn’t take long before viewers flocked to the comments to pass on their thoughts on the gripping show so far. One user observed: “Someone needs a win, if only the last player went on. That would have been amazing to see, but she did what was right for her. I can’t wait to watch tomorrow.”
Another predicted: “I feel like it will be soon… surely only a matter of time?” as a third echoed: “Sonia may not have got the 100 grand, but she went home with more than she was wanting. What a lovely lady [applause emoji].” It comes after ITV commissioned three more specials of Accidental Tourist, which will see Mulhern joined by Ant and Dec in a bid to face more of his fears and phobias. During an episode that aired late last year, the presenter travelled to South Korea and filmed emotional scenes as he reflected on the death of his dad.

ITV has now confirmed Stephen will embark on an unknown journey and will leave his creature comforts behind. The broadcaster teased: “Travelling to South Korea opened Stephen’s eyes to a brand new culture, but there is still a long way to go.
“The trip proved such a success that Stephen made some much-needed changes to his life back in the UK, but he’s slipping back into his old ways.
“Not wanting to undo the impressive progress he’d already made during his trip to South Korea, Stephen has decided he needs to spread his wings further, and who better to help once again than his close pals Ant and Dec?” Fans will have to stay tuned for the upcoming special set to air later this year.
