THIS is the terrifying moment a plane smashed through two North Phoenix homes nearly killing three people in the carnage.
The small commuter plane crash-landed into the back gardens of the homes, leaving the trio just seconds to make their miracle escape from beneath the debris.

The plane had been travelling at a terrifying speed before the crash

Shocking footage caught on a neighbour’s security camera showed the seconds before disaster as the plane descended into the normally quiet neighbourhood.
In the video the aircraft can be seen curving through the air heading directly towards the Arizona homes at a terrifying pace before the first crash.
It disappears below the roof line, clearly making contact with the back of the homes.
An initial investigation revealed the plane had clipped the first home’s roof with one of the wings and took out numerous tiles in the process.
In the collision, the wing and a side panel were ripped from the body of the jet.
This caused it to somersault through the air and nose dive into the backyard of the second property.
In jaw dropping video from Arizona‘s Family (AZFamily), the chaotic scene was filmed from above, showing the dramatic aftermath of the smash.
The separated panel of the plane and its wing were visible, completely removed from the side of the aircraft.
The plane had been left standing completely on its nose with the metal severely contorted.
Neighbours also reported hearing the crash, describing the sound as similar to when a garbage truck drops its gate.
Nine-year-old Brianna saw the crash unfold.
“I said, ‘Daddy I think I saw a plane crash!’,” she told AZFamily.
“I was a little scared because I was hoping that everyone was OK.”
Her dad, Sean, said he had been getting her ready to go to school at the time of the smash.
” I just didn’t believe it because I didn’t see any smoke and I told her … there’d be a big mushroom fire or cloud of smoke out there and there was nothing and so I proceeded to take her to school like nothing was wrong,” he said.
“It wasn’t until I got about halfway home after dropping her off at school, I looked at a clip online and it was real. So, it’s been an out of body experience,” he added.
He said while there had been no smoke or fire from the smash, the smell of jet fuel had been extremely overwhelming for many hours after the accident.
The first property hit by the plane was home to a small family with a four-month-old baby, whose bedroom received the most damage in the crash.
Just one person had been home when the aircraft hit, leaving him just seconds to get out before being crushed beneath the rubble.
The man sustained trauma to his head, alongside scrapes and burns, but has been released to return home.
The mother of the household has since spoken to local media, saying everyone was okay.
The four-seater plane had also been carrying two passengers – a flight instructor and student pilot – paramedics treated them both at the scene.
They had taken off from the nearby Deer Valley airport – one of the biggest and busiest airports for personal flights in the area.
“Situations like this when you do have multiple residences involved and you have houses with people coming and going, it was a miracle no one was injured,” Phoenix Fire Captain Todd Keller said.
“Early indications are that the plane did hit that first house, landed in that second house’s backyard.
“That first house person [was] transported for precautionary measures,” he added.
An investigation into the horrifying ordeal has been launched, as emergency services were seen working at the scene into the night.
Firefighters and investigators are still trying to assess whether the plane made any structural damage to the homes.
Since the accident, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said the Piper PA-28 had suffered a mechanical failure, sending it crashing back to earth after attempting to return to the airport.
Several houses in the neighbourhood were evacuated while hazmat suit-clad crews cleaned up the fuel leak at the scene.
The FAA said they were assisting in the investigation into what caused the crash.
