A royal expert suggested the young prince will be seen at future engagements
Prince George has been described as “a new royal in training” as his parents “carefully introduce” him to public engagements.
The 12-year-old has been spotted at more events recently, with reports suggesting the Prince and Princess of Wales are gradually bringing him into the royal fold.
Richard Eden, the Daily Mail’s Diary Editor, said that with the absence of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Prince Harry, there is an opportunity for the young royal to step up to the mark.
He said: “What we are seeing now is a new royal in training, Prince George.”

Mr Eden continued: “At the Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall, we saw his mother, Catherine, gently leading the way and really showing how Prince George could handle public engagements in the future.
“It’s an event of remembrance, and it’s one which is very close to the hearts of the Royal Family, also one which Prince George is very interested in.”
Mr Eden explained that it is not the first event of this kind George has attended.
He said: “We saw him earlier this year, meeting veterans at Buckingham Palace when there was a tea party to celebrate the 70th anniversary of VE Day.

“Even though he is very young, he managed to have conversations with these veterans, and you could see he was taking a real interest.”
Mr Eden believes that we will continue to see George “at a lot more of these types of events”.
The future King is settling into life with his sister, Princess Charlotte, and brother, Prince Louis, at the family’s new residence, Forest Lodge.
His mother recently shared that he had become a big fan of AirFix models, in particular Lancaster Bombers.

The Princess of Wales made the revelation at the National Memorial Arboretum, where she was heading national commemorations for Armistice Day.
She joined veterans, serving personnel, and families as the nation observed the two-minute silence last Tuesday.
Kate said: “George very much likes making the AirFix models. He is a big fan of the Lancaster Bomber, so he knows more about aircraft than I do.”
It was the first time that the Princess of Wales had attended the event held at the Armed Forces Memorial.

King Charles is thought to be “delighted” with how the princess stepped up to lead the Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day commemorations.
Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond said: “I’m sure the King is delighted every time Catherine steps up to perform high-profile duties.
“He must recognise that she is an absolutely key figure in the future of the monarchy, and – just like William – he is proud of how completely she has embraced her role.”
The royal expert added that the princess was the “very picture of a modern future Queen, carrying out one of the most solemn duties in the royal calendar”.
