rince Harry and Meghan Markle shared the joyful news that she was pregnant with their first child, son Prince Archie, with royal family members at Princess Eugenie’s wedding.
Eugenie married Jack Brooksbank in October 2018, just a few months after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex tied the knot in May.
Harry, 41, and Meghan, 44, decided to tell members of the royal family their special news during Eugenie and Jack’s big day.
In his memoir, Spare, the Duke of Sussex explained why they decided to do it at the nuptials.

Why Prince Harry and Meghan Markle revealed baby news at Eugenie’s wedding
Writing in Spare, Prince Harry detailed the moment they shared their happy news with the likes of King Charles, Prince William, and Princess Kate.
Harry wrote: “Euge was getting married, to Jack, and we were deliriously happy for them and for ourselves, selfishly, since Jack was one of our favourite people.
“Meg and I were supposed to head off on our first official foreign tour as a married couple. But we delayed the departure several days, so we could be at the wedding.
“Also, the various gatherings connected to the wedding would give us a chance to pull aside family members one by one and tell them our good news.”
He explained that they told Charles of the news “at Windsor, just before a drinks reception for the bride and groom”.
Harry said: “He was delighted to learn that he was going to be a grandfather for a fourth time. His wide smile warmed me.”

William’s ‘reaction’ to news Meghan Markle was pregnant with Archie
Meanwhile, Harry also detailed the moment he told brother William of the baby news.
He wrote: “After the drinks reception, in St George’s Hall, Meg and I pulled Willy aside. We whispered the news, and Willy smiled and said, ‘We must tell Kate.’”

Harry said that Kate was across the room talking with her sister, Pippa Middleton. The Princess of Wales reportedly also reacted warmly with “a big smile and hearty congratulations”.
The palace announced Prince Harry and Meghan’s baby news to the public on October 15, 2018. This was three days after Eugenie and Jack’s wedding.
When the news was announced, the couple were just about to begin their royal tour to Australia.
Harry and Meghan welcomed their son, Prince Archie, on May 6, 2019. Months later, in early 2020, they announced they were stepping back from their working royal roles.
They moved to America and have embarked on their own life away from duties.
In June 2021, they welcomed their daughter, Princess Lilibet. The family now live in Montecito, California.
