Prince Andrew looks set to benefit from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s spending £2.4million on Frogmore Cottage.
Andrew and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, are expected to leave their current Royal Lodge residence soon a negotiations with King Charles continue.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex previously lived in Frogmore Cottage following their wedding in 2018. Before moving in, a series of renovations were done to the property to make it liveable for the newlywed couple.
The Grade II-listed property had to be transformed from separate apartments into a single-family home.

The Times reported that Andrew had paid an initial £1m for the lease, plus a further £7.5m in refurbishment costs, which were completed in 2005 and since then he has only paid “one peppercorn (if demanded)” in rent per year.
Ms Ferguson and Andrew have limited options for where they move next.
Andrew appears set to move into Frogmore Cottage, but Ms Ferguson has her sights set on Adelaide Cottage, something royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams claims is “out of touch.”

The cost of the renovations came to a whopping £2.4m, which the couple paid back to the Crown Estate after they stepped back from their roles as senior royals.
The renovations in 2019 mean that if Andrew were to take up residence there, it would be in very good condition and he would be able to move in straight away.
It was recently revealed that the under-fire royal had effectively not been paying rent while staying at Royal Lodge.

Prince Andrew is facing intense scrutiny over his links to Jeffery Epstein | GETTYHe told the Mail: “If they think that having two homes – which the King I’m sure won’t agree to – is likely to solve things, they’re still living in a rather weird fantasy world.
“I’m surprised that Sarah Ferguson has managed these comebacks. There’s no comeback now, she’s in disgrace.”
He added: “There’s no reason at all that she should [have her own Crown Estate] home. This is an idea that Andrew has has to give up 30-room Royal Lodge. Well, let’s have two. I don’t see it working.

“If it was adopted, there’d be outrage… she’s not been a working royal since 1996 – the idea that should get anything on the Crown Estate… it doesn’t matter what she wants, she is getting out of touch with reality as he has so obviously been.
“Giving up Royal Lodge was going to happen and the pressure must be enormous on them. The pressure they are feeling is so intense that they hardly know what they are doing and thinking. It’s extraordinary.
“It’s Crown Estate and if there’s any taxpayer responsibility, that would be extremely controversial.”
