Lorraine Kelly has shared an update with her many fans as she continues to take a break from the ITV show. The 65-year-old told her many Instagram followers on Saturday that she had to go to hospital for surgery.
Lorraine said she had to have her “ovaries and tubes taken out”, although moved to reassure fans as she explained the procedure was to be “purely preventative”. In a second post on Monday, Lorraine told fans she had been well taken care of and that she would be “following doctors’ orders to rest up”.
Understandably, the “queen of daytime TV” has been absent from her show this week while she continues to recover. But it seems she couldn’t let today, May 8, pass without sharing a special tribute.
It is Sir David Attenborough’s 99th birthday, and Lorraine took to Instagram to share a photo of herself with the national treasure. Captioning the update, Lorraine said: “Happy 99th Birthday Sir David – a giant of a man. The best of us. Total legend. I’m honoured to have met you”.
Many Lorraine fans have been quick to respond in the comments section. One wrote: “Fabulous photo … Happy 99th Birthday Sir David”.
A second said: “Happy birthday to an amazing, clever, kind, inspirational man xx”. A third added: “My hero, happy birthday”.
