THE sheriff leading the Nancy Guthrie investigation has been hit with a fresh blow after deputies’ union called on him to quit.

Chris Nanos is now facing a no-confidence vote from the Pima County Deputy’s Organization, piling more pressure on the embattled lawman.

The drama exploded in Arizona this week when the union said it had unanimously voted to urge Nanos to resign.
Those records showed Nanos resigned in 1982 instead of 1984, as his public résumé had previously stated.
Reports also said he left El Paso in lieu of termination after disciplinary problems.
The union said he failed to fully disclose that history to Pima County and to the public.
The issue comes to light at a time when the high-profile Nancy Guthrie disappearance case remains unsolved.
Former SWAT chief Bob Krygier has also torn into Nanos, accusing him of weal leadership and poor communication.
Speaking on the Surviving the Survivor podcast, Krygier said Nanos often gets emotional in public and repeats himself.
