The celebs could now be at risk of being attacked by blood-sucking leeches
I’M A Celeb was plunged into chaos today after a thunderstorm battered camp – with the stars being evacuated.
All 12 campmates, including model Kelly Brook, rapper Aitch and YouTuber Angry Ginge, took refuge in the Bush Telegraph for an hour as heavy rain and hailstones pounded down.

And filming for the show was delayed by three hours because of the brutal weather at the Aussie site.
The storm calmed after around two hours – with 50mm of rain falling in Dungay, New South Wales.
But celebs were left having to dry their towels and sheets around the fire afterwards – while some of them went to film tonight’s Bushtucker Trial.
A show source said: “The camp was drenched and the storm caused filming issues, but everything is fine now.
“Our health and safety weather contingencies kicked in and we evacuated the celebrities immediately to the Bush Telegraph until the storm passed and it was safe to return to camp.”
The bad weather can lead to blood-sucking leeches infesting the camp.
It can also cause the site’s creeks to “quickly turn from a trickle to a torrent”.
A thunderstorm hit the camp before this year’s series had even begun earlier this month.
Bosses had to put plans in place to limit any damage to the site before the contestants arrived.
One source said at the time: “Never underestimate the Gold Coast weather – it can go from 30C heat to biblical storms in minutes.”
On last year’s series, the campmates were evacuated to the Bush Telegraph twice due to the bad weather.
It was believed to have been the wettest series in the ITV show’s history – with 114.5mm falling in just 24 hours at one point.
Sun columnist Jane Moore, 63, revealed her bra got soaked in blood after a leech latched on to her during one night in camp last year.
And speaking about one evacuation, McFly‘s Danny Jones, 39 – who won the 2024 series – said: “It was one of the hardest nights.
“We were all quite cramped and I think there were still 12 of us then as well, all boiling-hot in close proximity.
“The rain also meant the leeches were searching for you and I was literally on leech check every day.”
During one of the 2024 downpours, part of the set got ripped up and roads leading into the site were flooded.
It also caused a one-hour delay to a Bushtucker Trial.
