The Duke of Sussex has been on TV getting a few laughs but Jasmine Carey asks if his relatives back in Britain will find it so funny.

Prince Harry, you’ve done it again. When hopes of reconciliation and improved relationships with your royal relatives are in clear view, why do you have to do something to push it all away?
Just months ago, the Duke of Sussex seemed to be well on his way to healing the turbulent relationship he has had with his father, King Charles, over recent years. While their September meeting was very brief, it seemed to be successful, with Harry openly showing signs of optimism about returning to the UK to see his father again, and potentially with his children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, too.
While the relationship may have taken a positive turn, I can’t imagine Harry’s most recent comments about the royals will have gone down well.
In an unexpected public appearance on Friday, Harry took to the stage at the British American Business Council’s (BABC) LA lunch.
It seemed the Duke, 41, wanted to showcase his comedic skills during the appearance, making what he probably saw as harmless quips.
This included a comment that compared the Royal Family to the TV series Downton Abbey. He said: “People sometimes ask if growing up with the Royal Family was a bit like… Downton Abbey.” He added: “Yeah, but only one of those worlds is filled with drama, intrigue, elaborate dinners, marriages to Americans – and the other is a TV show.”
This comment, while it got laughs from the crowd, was probably less funny for the Royal Family to hear over the pond. Why? Because it is mocking the institution.

Also, isn’t Prince Harry the biggest source of “drama” – perhaps besides his disgraced uncle Andrew – the Royal Family has?
If this comment wasn’t enough to make the royals sigh and question how much the Duke can be trusted, Harry’s joke about American President Donald Trump’s immigration policies would have done the trick.
When talking about the upcoming World Cup during his speech, the prince joked that Brits would have to “behave, get through customs and past ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement)” to see England play in the tournament.
This is the second comment mocking Trump that Harry has made within weeks, which will yet again put the Royal Family in a very awkward situation, especially as they seem to have good relationships with the US President.
And no one likes awkward situations. So, Harry, next time you want to get a few laughs from a crowd, maybe keep your royal relatives and political comments out of it. Because you may have just ended hopes of a successful royal reconciliation… again.
