Police searching an alleged gunman who vanished into Western Australian bushland after allegedly shooting his partner have revealed a bombshell update.

Police have located a 4WD belonging to an alleged gunman who fled into Western Australian bushland after allegedly shooting his partner three weeks ago.
Kenneth John Giles, 58, was last seen leaving a property near Mullewa, 445km north of Perth, after the alleged shooting and has not been seen since January 7.
On Wednesday, police found Mr Giles’ Nissan Patrol ute abandoned in bushland near Nunierra, about 70km north of Mullewa.

Significant police resources were deployed to the Mid-West region to search for Mr Giles, who remains missing.
WA Police Superintendent Neil Vanderplank told media the they were committed to finding the alleged gunman but did not know if he was still alive.
“There are a number of wild animals including a number of wild pigs out there, so if he happens to be deceased there won’t be much left of him,” Mr Vanderplank said.

“It’s always going to be playing on the back of the mind that, ‘this bloke’s alive and someone’s helping him or he’s deceased.’
“There is some water houses and kangaroos out there, if you’re a skilled enough hunter you could survive out there.”
