The Prince and Princess of Wales have moved into their “forever home,” Forest Lodge, less than a couple of miles from Andrew Mountbatten Windsor, where they will temporarily become neighbours.
The pair moved with their three children from Adelaide Cottage, upgrading to the eight-bedroom lodge, where they plan to remain after William becomes King.
For a short time, they will be close neighbours to Andrew, whose Royal Lodge mansion is just 1.4 miles away, separated by Windsor Great Park.
Andrew has agreed to leave Royal Lodge for a new home on the King’s private Sandringham estate in Norfolk, poised to go in the New Year.
Andrew will be just 1.4 miles away from Prince William and Princess Kate temporarily.

The disgraced royal was stripped of his titles this week, losing his prince status, now being known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor.
William and Kate’s move took place over Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis’s half term, following the family setting themselves the goal of moving in by Bonfire Night.
It will be seen as a “fresh start” for the family, as they upgrade from the four-bedroom Adelaide Cottage, which has “some difficult memories associated with it”.
During the family’s time at Adelaide Cottage, they have had to deal with the death of Queen Elizabeth II, Charles and Kate’s cancer diagnoses and Harry and Meghan’s damning Netflix series.

A source said: “They have experienced some of their most challenging times there.
“The family are really happy about this [move] and excited for a fresh start.”
Having moved to Forest Lodge, the Prince of Wales prepares to make a solo trip to Rio de Janeiro in Brazil for his annual Earthshot Prize Awards.
The Earthshot Prize “searches the world for environmental solutions that show the greatest potential”.

Kate will not be joining William at the awards, having previously attended the first two ceremonies for the Earthshot Prize, accompanying her husband for the event in London in 2021 and Boston in 2022.
She did not join William in 2023, as she stayed home to support Prince George, who had exams that week and missed last year’s ceremony amid her cancer diagnosis and treatment.
Following the event, the prince will head to the Cop30 summit in Belem, Brazil, on November 6.
William will be joined by Sir Keir Starmer at Cop30, as he looks to re-establish the UK as “a global leader for climate action and green growth”, according to the Prime Minister’s spokesman.

William and Kate are understood to have fully supported the King’s decision to strip Andrew of his prince title.

The Prince and Princess of Wales were said to have fully supported the King’s decision to strip Andrew of his prince title.
William is understood to have wanted to take decisive action against his uncle.
Andrew was accused by the late Virginia Giuffre of sexually assaulting her as a teenager, after paedophile Jeffrey Epstein trafficked her.
The former prince has consistently denied all allegations against him, and the Metropolitan Police previously considered the sex assault claims were not sufficient to warrant further investigation.
