A FLORIDA cop is facing charges after he allegedly logged over 200 hours of fake overtime, racking up over $14,000.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office officer, Christian Madsen, was found to be seeing his girlfriend, who was also his boss, during the improperly filed overtime hours.

Madsen was arrested on February 12 after it was found he allegedly logged overtime assignments that he did not work.
He allegedly put in requests for overtime payments between December 1, 2025 and February 7, 2026 for working state grant-funded traffic deployments under the Pedestrian Bicycle Safety Grant, according to an arrest reported obtained by The U.S. Sun.
These assignments are when officers perform bicycle and pedestrian safety enforcement and education with approved enforcement locations while “actively utilizing issued Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office communication equipment.”
However, authorities compared Madsen’s cellular location data with multiple law enforcement data bases and found evidence that he was not performing the required deployment duties during the times he requested overtime compensation.
During the three month period where he allegedly falsified the overtime hours, he logged over 200 hours, resulting in over $14,000 in public funds being issued as overtime pay.
Madsen was charged with grand theft, official misconduct and organized fraud.
Upon his arrest, he was immediately suspended by the sheriff’s office.
The 31-year-old had an over 11-year career with the sheriff’s department.
Jacksonville Sheriff T.K. Waters said officials began looking into a tip weeks ago and found Madsen has been visiting Patrol Support Division Chief Jaime Eason during the false overtime hours.
‘I’m very disappointed’
Officials learned Madsen and Eason, his boss, had a romantic relationship.
Eason was not in charge of signing off on Madsen’s overtime, Waters said.
Eason decided to resign from her appointment to chief following a long conversation with Waters.
He said there is an “administrative process in place,” but did not provide further details.
“I’m very disappointed. I mean, she knows that. We talked,” he said. “I’m very disappointed but at the same time, business goes on. We have to take care of business.”
“The public has put me here to do this job, and when someone messes it up, we have to address it.”
“So we’ve done that. I’m telling the public about it now because I think it’s important for them to know. And now we’re gonna move on and continue with the business of the sheriff’s office because there’s a lot of great things that still take place every single day in this agency.”
The U.S. Sun also obtained a copy of Madsen’s disciplinary records, which showed a serious of “unfounded” citizen complaints dating back to 2017 and multiple vehicle accidents dating back to 2016.
Waters said this was the second time in 2026 that the department had arrested a member of the staff.
Waters told taxpayers who were concerned about the officer’s alleged misuse of pay that they should trust the department to do the right thing.
“As we have said many times before, no one is above the law,” the sheriff said.
